(Abrahams had a major falling out with Tull leader Ian Anderson.) Blodwyn Pig consisted of Abrahams (guitar and vocals), Jack Lancaster (saxophone), Andy Pyle (bass guitar), and Ron Berg (drums).
The band recorded two albums: Ahead Rings Out (1969) and Getting to This (1970). Both reached the lower half of the British top ten. On the first album they played a heavy blues-rock rooted in the British 1960s R'n'B scene from which sprang groups like the Yardbirds, Free, and eventually Led Zeppelin, but Blodwyn Pig had a different twist on the genre thanks to Lancaster's sax being so prominent in the mix, which led them to more creative sixties underground jazz-influenced music on the second. The single "Summer Day" from Ahead Rings Out failed to chart.

Absolutely _ _ you're right on !

I'd call this blues fusion. It's certainly not "German folk", in which case it would sound more akin to norteño music, so I'm not sure where you pulled that from.

Right on ! From the time I heard these tunes ( from my brother's LP collection ) I was hooked on Pig & especially Mick Abrams . Hope that Mick is still playing & kickin' it , maybe
not quite as high , but kickin' it never-the-less . God bless you all .

All the musicians are good, including Abrahams .

Absolutely one of the best of its era and that's saying something with so many great bands we had from the mid '60s to the early '70s. So many great tunes, I'm hard pressed to name a favorite. If you like this one, checkout their preceding album "Ahead Rings Out."

The entire album is great but "See My Way," is an incredible jazz-rock song with all members shining. Ron Berg's drums are thunderous, Jack Lancaster's dual saxes are solid and the whole arrangement is so tight. If Jethro Tull did go in a more jazzier fashion (which they did on the early albums) it would be Blodywn Pig for sure. Each song had a unique wonderful sound to it.
