(Abrahams had a major falling out with Tull leader Ian Anderson.) Blodwyn Pig consisted of Abrahams (guitar and vocals), Jack Lancaster (saxophone), Andy Pyle (bass guitar), and Ron Berg (drums).
The band recorded two albums: Ahead Rings Out (1969) and Getting to This (1970). Both reached the lower half of the British top ten. On the first album they played a heavy blues-rock rooted in the British 1960s R'n'B scene from which sprang groups like the Yardbirds, Free, and eventually Led Zeppelin, but Blodwyn Pig had a different twist on the genre thanks to Lancaster's sax being so prominent in the mix, which led them to more creative sixties underground jazz-influenced music on the second. The single "Summer Day" from Ahead Rings Out failed to chart.

Many fond memories of the Fillmore East and this time and place. For $3.50 you could get high with a dozen people in the upper seats and stay all night. I remember walking out at dawn after an all night Jefferson Airplane concert. I doubt anything will ever quite take the place of that. Thanks for posting this wonderful song.

Like you my friend, we were young and somewhat innocent but now we are men of beautiful wealth with our memories

@Franz Kafka Spent any a night there myself. The lineups were ridiculous- Butterfield Blues Band, Elvin Bishop and headlining BB King. Yes and Jethro Tull. Santana and Traffic. Each grouping was the same night!! Bill Graham occasionally walking around. Never to be repeated.

It's 1969; I have just switched the wireless on, on a Sunday afternoon. It's time for 'Top Gear', introduced by the one and only John Peel (God bless him) and he opens up with a new track from a new album by a new band......It's Dear Jill!!!!!!! I'm totally hooked!!!!!!
