Blue Steeples
Bow Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
That's why id just as soon as lie down and leave the
World behind
Heaven is a headful of lotus leaves and voodoo
God is a DJ the feng shui craze is cool
Disco inferno
Too much will 2k
And I'll be ok
But what the fuck will you do with these skinny white
Lies
Go topless for smash hits
Or wind up on a chatline-phone sex-soul-mate-style
Heaven is a weekend of skin-flick tricks and
Ball-games
Asses for angels, home-made flavor fame
Walking on water?
Rizia's and flares!
Look for a Starbucks sign
And you will find me there
The song "Blue Steeples" by Bows is a deeply introspective and introspective take on the complexities of love, spirituality, and modern culture. The lyrics paint a picture of a world that is both magical and mundane, where love can be both exhilarating and painful, and where spiritual transcendence is just a headful of lotus leaves away. The opening lines of the song, "Love bites, burns like a sunrise / That's why id just as soon as lie down and leave the world behind" evoke a sense of longing and melancholy, suggesting that the singer is both drawn to and repelled by the intense emotions that love can bring.
As the song progresses, the singer reflects on the concept of God and spirituality, embracing a more inclusive and eclectic view of religion that incorporates elements of Eastern philosophy and contemporary pop culture. The line "God is a DJ the feng shui craze is cool" suggests that spiritual enlightenment can be found in unexpected places, and that even seemingly superficial trends like feng shui can offer a sense of peace and harmony.
