But hey it ain't surprising for people to desire games with a lot of stories. We want everything games shouldn't have and that's why we have the industry we deserve. The monsters like ea and activision exist because at some point, we made all the wrong choices.

@aks 895 Firstly, that's not always the case, if you have half a brain you can understand the main plot of most from soft games and they seem to moving in a more accessible approach to story telling (Sekiro).
All that aside, even if this weren't the case, you are still wrong. Because you haven't played the game so you don't know for sure, and just because you don't like that style of story telling, doesn't make it bad. If you aren't willing to try and understand it, that's a you problem.
Also, elden ring is objectively incomparable to the dark souls series other than a couple of reused animations. It just is.

Not really. This game follows on DS2 footsteps by having the most insane build variety.

1 playtrough isn’t enough to satisfy and with every new item we uncover and give importance to pieces of the story we didn’t before.

It definitely invites ambition. This trailer is my favorite by far. It shows that the main character might be drawn in multiple directions in their pursuit of greatness, and seems to suggest that the player might be misled or manipulated

Especially with R.R. Martin working on it as well. His storytelling that led to Game of Thrones being created is just as amazing as Miyazaki's. I can easily see our character getting thrown for many loops and betrayals. I see a lot of adversity in front of us as players.

@Joey exactly, something like a consultant. He gave ideas for the world and the characters, Miyazaki gave everything form. There are some interviews with Marting explaning what his role with the game was, and it wasn't that big really. It's kinda annoying to see how many people are giving him more credit than he actually gives himself. Everything feels with Miyazaki's signature

These games have always characterized of having a deep lore that you have to uncover, vast mythos hidden in the descriptions and cryptic dialogue. It really makes it beautiful and poetic. Events unfold before your eyes and they will only happen and you'll understand your surroundings only if you pay attention

Coming back here after having 100% the game at 230 hours and man, Elden Ring really did in fact live up to the enormous expectation and hype it got. Hell, it may even surpassed it if i dare say. Probably my best gaming experience in a long long time.
I really can't see how Fromsoft can top this one with their future releases...

After putting 150 hours into this game... it is the best game I have ever played. Hands down. It's just so good, so detailed, so enourmous, so difficult, so beautiful, so rewarding. I really hope for a DLC and hope one day I get to play another open world game from this studio. Bravo.

Remember in the ringed city a new world was painted with the dark soul symbolizing the end of the dark souls series and a new world being made away from the cycle of fire and ash that you as the ashen one helped build. Luke Davies God of War 2018 was an amazing game both in terms of gameplay and story! And i had that exact dilemma, except between Horizon and Elden Ring haha, I absolutely love the new Horizon game so far and i have no idea what to do once Elden Ring comes out. It's a great time for gaming when Horizon, Elden Ring, Ragnarok, BoTW 2 release in a span of a year, hopefully Starfield is great too. And completely agree, people are acting as if it has the same graphics as the original Demon's Souls or Dark Souls lol when graphically it looks far more impressive than all the previous entries (apart from Demon's Souls Remake).

This game looks like a celebration of all that came before, the fire esthetic from dak souls, the giant serpent looks like a Japanese mith monster from Sekiro, the black moon on the horizon and all those weird dimensions look like right out of Bloodborne, all piece together with a great cinematic feel.

I am glad that Elden Ring is doing this for you, I know the feeling. I hadn't really gamed much for years and Zelda BOTW rekindled my love for games. Then I started the Souls games in June 2018 and got hooked even more. I've been around since the beginning of home consoles, and Elden Ring looks like everything I've ever wanted in an RPG coming together, easily looks like it could be the greatest game I ever play. (and I'm an old, jaded man, but believe the hype on this one!!!)

Never played Souls game. To difficult i thought. A friend got me into Elden Ring… yes it is very hard but what a game!!! Best i ever experienced. Such greatness needs to be seen, even if you think its to hard, just give it a try!

I think the Fromsoftware team and Miyazaki deserve a humongous applause for the games they have created up untill this point.

Elden Ring will probably seal the deal completely and will make them go down as one of the greatest studios ever in the history of game design... No, what am i talking about, this isnt even Game Design anymore.. This is Pure Art!!

Started with Dark Souls 2 simply cus the first game was out of stock at my GameStop, loved every second of it. Played 1 a year later and loved that 2. 3 game out and it was more amazing than both beforehand. Bloodborne was my first platinum achievement. Sekiro was the hardest and yet most polished one yet. Now here we are so many years later with another revolutionary game in this amazing franchise. Thank you Miyazaki

@Francisco Matos I really hated the fact that you would have to repeately walk a million times through the same area in DS1.
even after acquiring the lord vessel there was only a limited amount of bonfires you could warp at. the level design is amazing
but players shouldn't have to spend 10 minutes walking through the same areas every half hour. I think a lot of people would
have DS1 a lot higher in their list if this wasn't the case.

@Deltath Riylaan If you are going around telling people to be specific about the word franschise you shouldn't put "Demon's Souls" together with Dark Souls 1-3 and call them a franschise. Demon's Souls has as much to do with Dark Souls as Bloodborne does.

Elden Ring is a masterpiece and the best game of all time. Mohg is one of my favourite bosses in this game alongside Radagon, Elden Beast, Rykard and Dragonlord Placidusax. He is truly a lit and sick boss. He's so badass and creepy at the same time. I hope we could get cooler bosses like him in DLCs or the next Soulsborne games which harder like Gael, Nameless King and Malenia. Well done FromSoftware🔥🔥

@Midir OK, by the way there's a third title with 9.7 out 10, it's Red Dead Redemption 2 with over 30k votes. So Elden Ring would have some stellar company. 😂If it pulls an 9.8 out of 10 on imdb then I will certainly eat my Hat. But I would say it starts out at 9.5 at the very least. It's funny it has to compete with Horizon Forbidden West as Game of the Year, which just recently released the same month and is doing really well (9.6) but I believe Elden Ring will be more popular due to being a Cross Platform title. I guess it should hopefully provide a lenghty Gaming experience, unlike games like Demon's Souls. 🤣

My personal favorite PC game of all times is Deus Ex - hah, it's only 9.2.
