In 2012, Harris rose to international prominence with the release of his third studio album, 18 Months, which topped the UK Albums Chart and became his first album to chart on the US Billboard 200, peaking at number 19. In 2014, he released his fourth studio album, Motion, which debuted at number two in the UK and number five in the US. He also became the first UK solo artist to reach more than one billion streams on Spotify. Harris has received 18 Brit Award nominations–winning British Producer of the Year and British Single of the Year in 2019, as well as five Grammy nominations, including a win for Best Music Video in 2013. It's okay, we're all the same
I will love you if you like my name
But we are all the same
Excuse me, I forgot my name
It's okay, we're all the same
I will love you if you like my name
Excuse me, I forgot my name
It's okay, we're all the same
I will love you if you like my name
But we are all the same
Excuse me, I forgot my name
It's okay, we're all the same
I will love you if you like my name
But we are all the same
Excuse me, I forgot my name
Excuse me, I forgot my name
The lyrics of Calvin Harris's song "We Are All the Same" convey a sense of unity and acceptance among individuals. The repetition of the phrase "excuse me, I forgot my name" suggests a temporary loss of identity or a moment of self-doubt. However, the following lines, "it's okay, we're all the same," emphasize the idea that despite our differences, we are fundamentally similar.
The lyrics also touch upon the theme of love and acceptance, as the singer states, "I will love you if you like my name." This implies that love should not be based on superficial factors, such as names or appearances, but rather on recognizing the underlying sameness in all people. The phrase "we are all the same" is repeated throughout the song as a reminder that despite our individual experiences and backgrounds, we share a common humanity.
