A Luz De Lisboa
Camané Lyrics

E devagar adormece
Acorda a luz que me guia
Olho a cidade e parece
Que é de tarde que amanhece
Que em Lisboa é sempre dia
De um futuro sempre ausente
De um passado agreste e mudo
Quanto mais te enches de gente
Mais te tornas transparente
Mais te redimes de tudo
Acordas-me adormecendo
E dos sonhos que vais tendo
Faço a minha realidade
E é de noite que eu acendo
A luz do dia que aprendo
Com a tua claridade
These lyrics are from the song "A Luz De Lisboa" by Camané. The song reflects on the city of Lisbon and its unique characteristics.
The first verse sets the scene as Lisbon darkens and slowly falls asleep. However, as the city rests, a guiding light awakens. This light is metaphorical, representing something that leads and directs the singer.
The second verse describes how, when looking at the city, it appears as though it is always daytime, even when it's actually nighttime. This suggests that Lisbon is a place where brightness and energy are present at all times, regardless of the physical hour.
The third verse portrays Lisbon as a city that has survived and endured, even though it seems to lack a clear future. It carries a past that was harsh and silent. Despite this, the more people fill the city, the more transparent it becomes. This could imply that the presence and diversity of its inhabitants bring a sense of authenticity and redemption to the city.
In the final verse, the singer reflects on how Lisbon wakes him up from his own slumber. The dreams he has while sleeping become his reality, influenced by the city's vibrant atmosphere. He discovers the light of day during the night, learning from the city's clarity and brightness.
Overall, these lyrics celebrate Lisbon as a city that never truly sleeps and holds a unique vitality. It serves as a place of inspiration and illumination, allowing individuals to find their own path and discover their realities.
