Candlebox was known for an explosive live show and throughout their 8 year career, they toured with such bands as Living Colour, The Flaming Lips, Our Lady Peace, Rush, Henry Rollins, and Metallica. They were also a featured band on the main-stage at Woodstock '94 and made repeat live performances on the David Letterman show.
They are best known for the singles "Change", "You", "Far Behind" and "Simple Lessons". "Far Behind" entered Billboard's Top 20 in July of 1993 and didn't drop off the charts until January of 1994. The videos for "Far Behind" and "You" were in seemingly perpetual rotation on MTV and became two of the most requested videos of 1993.
Drummer Scott Mercado left the band in 1997 and was replaced by former Pearl Jam member Dave Krusen. Krusen later left the band in 1999 and was replaced by Shannon Larkin of Ugly Kid Joe. Bardi Martin also left the band that year, and was replaced by Rob Reddick (formerly of Dig). The band split in year 2000.
As of 2005, singer Kevin Martin is currently recording and performing as the leader of The Hiwatts. Peter Klett is currently recording and performing as the leader of redlightmusic.
In 2006, Candlebox has reunited with their original line-up. They went on a three-month North American tour beginning on July 1st of the same year. This marks their first collaboration since 1996.
In 2008, Candlebox released their fourth studio album called "Into the sun". This meant their return since 1998's Happy Pills. Also, they released a Live album called "Alive in Seattle" which includes tracks from all their past albums.
In 2009, Kevin Martin (along with Sean Hennesy, Candlebox's guitarist) helped form the super-group The Gracious Few with three of the members of the band LIVE. Functioning as lead singer, the band went on to release a self-titled album which accompanied an extensive tour. Though LIVE has reformed with a new lead singer, more material from The Gracious Few is said to be released in the future
Them Eyes

Pain me with them smokey eyes
I've been drunk on you for what seems a lifetime
I' hung up on love
I'm surely lost, but I don't even care
Lay your head on me babe
Lay your head on me
My heart a fool to be made aware
And as I lay here by your pillow side
An uncovered lover, I simply can't deny
Until it's over now
Until it's over now
Don't say goodbye, no
Don't say goodbye
I can't remember ever wanting anything more
No memory at all
Just blindly walking through your door
Lay your hands on me babe
Lay your hands on me
My love is true
I'm surely unaware
And as I lay here by your pillow side
An uncovered lover, I simply can't deny
Don't say it's over now
Don' say it's over now
I can't say goodbye, love
I can't say goodbye, no
I'll never love another the way I loved and cared for you
You said, "it's something simple baby"
But I don't know what to do, no
So scared to let you in so I chased you out the door
You caught me smoking baby so I smoked more
You can't believe how much I hurt baby
Did I hurt you?
My jealous heart was poisoned, lover
Did it poison you?
Don't say it's over now,
Don't say it's over now
I'll crumble, lover
Oh, as I lay here tonight passed out on your floor
I can see it all
I can see what you were waiting for
I can see them eyes was wanting love
Calling me to the shore
It's all so clear to me now you are the reward
Oh
Don't say it's over now, oh
Don't say it's over now oh
And as I lay here by your pillow side
I see the sun in you, I simply can't deny
Don't say it's over now, oh
Don't say it's over now
You gimme one last try
Don't say it's over now
Don't say it's over now
Don't say it's over now
Don't say it's over now
The lyrics of "Them Eyes" by Candlebox revolve around a passionate, intoxicating love that has the potential to both hurt and heal. The singer is completely enamored by the woman's "smokey eyes" and is willing to be vulnerable and exposed to her. He has been in love with her for so long that he is lost without her, but he doesn't care because he is so invested in their relationship. The chorus repeats an appeal for her not to say goodbye, and the singer fearfully acknowledges that he can't forget her or move on.
The second verse suggests that the relationship is fraught with complications and misunderstandings. The singer admits that he feels blind and confused when it comes to the woman and is scared to let her in. He is deeply in love with her, but his behavior is hurting her, and he wonders if his own jealousy has poisoned their relationship. The final verse is a plea for one last chance to make things right. The singer recognizes the beauty and the value of the woman only after being fully exposed to her, and he doesn't want to let her go.
Overall, "Them Eyes" is a song about the complexity of love, the vulnerability it requires, and the pain it can cause. It showcases Candlebox's ability to blend heartfelt lyrics with hard-rocking guitar riffs and their angst-filled vocal style.
