2) The shortlived Atlanta based grind outfit Charmer unleashes sheer visceral madness. Trimming down to merely a vocalist, guitarist, and drummer, their sole release has been a self-titled 7" (of which only 150 were pressed and all were sold on Charmer's most recent tour). Due to the damage caused by their furious live shows, the members have done a helluva job keeping their identities more or less a secret, having been known to perform adorned in gas masks and under many different aliases.
Since the band's break-up, guitarist "Emmerson Longfellow" and vocalist "Pelham Winchester" began writing under the guies of End Life (http://myspace.com/endfuckinglife).
Doom
Charmer Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Does it compliment your mood?
Honestly, you're not too far
From impending doom
That's always hanging over you
Can you meet me halfway?
As I try to erase
How you poisoned my veins
The seasons won't change
If you still haunt my brain
This taste of disdain
I'll do whatever it takes
To try to abstain
Though I know that I'll cave
Can you meet me halfway?
As I try to erase
The smell after rain
How you poisoned my veins
The seasons won't change
If you still haunt my brain
The song "Doom" by Charmer revolves around the themes of the weather, impending doom, poison, and addiction. The lyrics delve into the singer's anxieties, and how they are unable to escape the memories that haunt them. The opening lines of the song, "How’s the weather where you are?/ Does it compliment your mood?/ Honestly, you’re not too far/ From impending doom", set the tone for the melancholic and almost foreboding atmosphere of the song. The lyrics imply that the weather is mirroring the singer's inner turmoil, as they are confronted with the inevitability of doom.
The chorus of the song, "Can you meet me halfway?/ As I try to erase/ The smell after rain/ How you poisoned my veins/ The seasons won't change/ If you still haunt my brain", describes the singer's desperate attempt to escape the painful memories that they associate with the smell after rain. The reference to the poison in their veins suggests the addiction that they are struggling with, while the imagery of the seasons unable to change implies that they are trapped in a constant cycle of pain and heartache. The final line of the chorus, "If you still haunt my brain", reinforces the idea that the singer is unable to let go of the past and move on.

Here we go again! I'm obsessed! It's that hot Mulligan buzz all over again and I'm here for that! No comparisons between the two other than they both evoke a feeling! Like a new memory! Feels like they've come here in a delorean from the American pie era. I can kinda here a softer rival schools sound in there with a little bit of that intricate Midwest guitar sound from tiny moving parts! I love it!
