2) The shortlived Atlanta based grind outfit Charmer unleashes sheer visceral madness. Trimming down to merely a vocalist, guitarist, and drummer, their sole release has been a self-titled 7" (of which only 150 were pressed and all were sold on Charmer's most recent tour). Due to the damage caused by their furious live shows, the members have done a helluva job keeping their identities more or less a secret, having been known to perform adorned in gas masks and under many different aliases.
Since the band's break-up, guitarist "Emmerson Longfellow" and vocalist "Pelham Winchester" began writing under the guies of End Life (http://myspace.com/endfuckinglife).
Wither
Charmer Lyrics

Seep between the seams and fall back to spring
Depression pries from my lack of time
Can′t help but feel I'll slowly fall
Behind closed blinds
Eclipsing my lifetime
Faulty bloodline
Wither
Finally had it all aligned
A feeling like your first high
Now reminds me of the pine tree on your finger
Wet grass beats winter
Succumb to whispers
And wither
Wither
Finger rings falling down your sink
Don′t you think we've had enough
Of treading through bad blood
I'm sick of everything that′s left undone
Manipulating feelings that I had once
Falling out of touch with everyone I love
Back from early years when we weren′t numb
The lyrics of "Wither" by Charmer showcase the inner turmoil and conflicts of the singer who is indulged in daydreaming to escape from the harsh reality of life. The opening lines describe how the singer is tangled in daydreams and everything seems serene to him/her. However, they are still unable to escape from depression, which results from the lack of time and not being able to keep up with life's demands. The singer is scared of falling slowly, and their life feels eclipsed behind closed blinds. The relatable angst expressed by the singer and the song's slow melody evoke a sense of melancholy.
The second verse continues with the heavy reliance of the singer on memories of the past. They reminisce the time when they had everything aligned, and it felt like their first high. However, things are different now, and the reminisce now reminds them of the pine tree on their finger as they lie down on wet grass that beats winter. They are succumbing to the whispers of their mind, and the feeling of withering creeps in.
The last verse brings a shift in the narrative. The singer is now fed up with the bad blood that everyone around him/her is treading through. Manipulating feelings that he/she once had, falling out of touch with everyone they once loved brings forth the idea of growing up and growing apart. The song's overall theme is the familiar idea of growing and outgrowing things, including relationships with people around you, trying to grasp onto memories to escape from depression.
