He started his career with the seminal NZ band Supergroove. Shortly after he broke from the band in 1996, he released his first single ‘Chains’ a duet with DLT that went straight to #1 on the NZ Singles charts, and stayed there for 5 consecutive weeks. It went on to reach Platinum and was the landmark single that brought NZ Hip Hop to mass attention.
Che Fu has released three solo albums and one greatest hits compilation: 2b S.PACiFiC, Navigator, and Beneath The Radar and Hi-Score: The Best of Che-Fu.
Navigator is a combination of 13 tracks developed musically and lyrically by Che Fu. His love of reggae, funk, soul, rap and hip hop were his inspiration. "Fade Away" and "Random" were the first two singles released off the album, and both did well in the New Zealand charts. His album also sees him collaborate with D.J P-Money and The Villajah M.Cs.

[Aaradhna:]

[Che fu:]
Now sis man,
You're a singer,
I'm a singer,
[Aaradhna:]
Mmhmm
[Che fu:]
Theres this thing on my mind,
Yah know
[Aaradhna:]
Whats that?
[Che fu:]
It's kinda like there's these umm,
These...
[HOOK: Che fu]
Theres these ladies,
Special to me I cant lie,
When they do their thing,
It gets me everytime,
That girl Aretha,
And Diva simone on that microphone,
Gladis Knight all night,
And Roberta Flack,
Always takes me back to when
[CHORUS: Che fu]
My tape was spinn',
Spinn' round and round and round,
Those ladies rocked me,
Turned my whole world upside down,
Got me spinn',
Inside outside upside down,
I just cant believe,
What they've done for me,
Its my whole background
[Aaradhna:]
Spinn' round
Yae
Yae
Spinn' round
Yae
Yae [x2]
[Che fu:]
Soo ah how 'bout you? Huh
You got any stories like that?
[Aaradhna:]
Yeah I do
[Che fu:]
Oh you do
[Aaradhna:]
I gotta few
[Che fu:]
Mean...
Lets walk lets walk
[Aaradhna:]
Alright
[HOOK: Aaradhna]
Gotta give it up for The Manns,
Holdin' it down,
Always bringn' the jams yeah,
Odis, Sixty feet,
The temptations and Jodeci Yae,
I always stand a floor away,
Abe Hathaway or Martin Luther,
Marvin Gay,
Curtis Mayfield and Laren Hall,
Sam cook, Al green,
I love 'em all
[CHORUS: Aaradhna]
Got me spinn',
Spinn' round and round and round,
Voices liftin' me,
I think Im risin' off the ground,
Got me spinn',
Inside outside upside down,
I just cant believe,
What they've done for me
[BRIDGE: Che fu]
This is something that's personal,
[Aaradhna:]
Like late at night when you turn off the light,
[Che fu:]
Push play and you drift away
[Aaradhna:]
When the volumes down and no ones around yeah
[Che fu:]
This music can comfort me
[Aaradhna:]
Goin' through a brake up or tryna make up
[Che fu:]
Love songs till the break ah dawn
[Aaradhna:]
Slow jam stations all night long
[CHORUS: Che fu]
The DJs spinn',
Spinn' round and round and round,
[Aaradhna:]
These classics got me,
Up so high I cant come down,
[Che fu:]
They've got me spinn'
Inside outside upside down,
[Together:]
I just cant believe what they've done for you and me
[Aaradhna:]
The DJs spinn',
Spinn' round and round and round,
[Che fu:]
These classics got me,
Up so high I cant come down,
[Aaradhna:]
They've got me spinn'
Inside outside upside down,
[Together:]
I just cant believe what they've done for you and me
The song Spin 1 by Che Fu featuring Aaradhna is a nostalgic tribute to the power of music and how it has shaped their lives. The conversation between the two singers serves as a preface to their lists of influential artists who had a profound impact on their tastes, understanding, and appreciation of music. Che Fu mentions Aretha Franklin, Diva Simone, Gladys Knight, and Roberta Flack, who evoke memories of his past and impressions that linger on as he reminisces about the times he listened to them over and over again. Aaradhna reciprocates by mentioning The Manns, Odis, Sixty Feet, The Temptations, Jodeci, Abe Hathaway, Martin Luther, Marvin Gay, Curtis Mayfield, Laren Hall, Sam Cooke, and Al Green. The lyrics communicate how music can take us to places beyond time and space, how it can soothe our troubles, elevate our spirits, and even inspire us to dream.
