Since then, he began his recording career and moved to New York, staying there for two years. Brown's local production team organized an audition before Def Jam Vice President Tina Davis, who currently works as his manager. At the age of 15, Brown was then sent to perform for L.A. His fourth single is the ballad "Say Goodbye," which is also a part of the Step Up Soundtrack. On June 13, 2006, Brown released a DVD entitled, Chris Brown's Journey, which shows footage of him travelling in England and Japan, getting ready for his first visit to the Grammys, behind the scenes of his music videos and bloopers.
On August 17, 2006 to further promote the album, Brown kicked off his major co-headlining tour, The Up Close and Personal Tour. All bad, I mean, real bad (bad)
Fuckin' with you and you still mad (still mad)
She get it done and she work fast (work fast)
Holdin' you down, that shit gotta count for somethin'
Go a few rounds, girl, you know I keep it comin'
Say I don't care, girl, but I can't feel my stomach
You held me down, not down enough
And I ran for miles just tryna catch up
We even now, came back from dust
They tellin' me you're toxic, girl, I still won't listen
Red flags, red flags
All bad, I mean, real bad
Fuckin' with you and you still mad (oh)
She get it done and she work fast (work)
Red flags, red flags
All bad, I mean, real bad
Fuckin' with you and you still mad
Outside and I ain't goin' back
Yeah, if you ride for me, why would you lie to me?
Said you'll slide for me, what are you waitin' on?
We what they hatin' on, what they tryna be
But you don't play for keeps, yeah
I should let you win, but I be petty as a bitch
I should let shit go, but it be hard because I'm him
Put that on my kids, you don't come home, I'm gon' be sick
You gon' turn me back from bein' rich to hittin' licks
You held me down, not down enough
And I ran for miles just tryna catch up
We even now, came back from dust
They tellin' me you're toxic, girl, I still won't listen (red flags)
Red flags, red flags (oh-woah)
All bad, I mean, real bad (real bad)
Fuckin' with you and you still mad (you still mad)

All bad, I mean, real bad (really bad)
Fuckin' with you and you still mad (you still mad at me)

In Chris Brown's song "Red Flags," the lyrics delve into the complexities of a tumultuous relationship. The repeated mention of red flags serves as a metaphor for warning signs or indicators of trouble within the relationship. The singer acknowledges that everything about the relationship is bad and describes how the person he is involved with remains angry despite their physical intimacy. The phrase "she get it done and she work fast" suggests that the person he is involved with is skilled at certain aspects of their relationship, possibly referring to their ability to manipulate or deceive.
Despite the negative aspects, the singer acknowledges that the other person has held him down to some extent, but still feels that it is not enough. He confesses that he has put in a lot of effort to catch up and continue the relationship, implying that there have been significant challenges and obstacles. The line "You were mine, but you act like you wasn't" indicates a sense of betrayal or disregard from the other person, as if they are denying the past connection they shared.
The singer questions why the other person, who claims to ride for him and be loyal, would lie instead. He questions their hesitation in following through with their promises. The lyrics hint at jealousy, as he explains that others envy their relationship, but at the same time, the other person does not commit fully. He admits to his own pettiness and difficulty in letting go, as well as the potential consequences if the other person chooses not to come home, possibly leading him to engage in illegal activities to sustain himself.
Overall, the song portrays a relationship where red flags are present, but despite the toxic nature of the connection, the singer still struggles to detach fully. They acknowledge the negative aspects, but also demonstrate a sense of longing and conflict.

Sinais vermelhos, sinais vermelhos (sinais vermelhos)
Agora estamos quites, voltamos do zero
Sinais vermelhos, sinais vermelhos
Ela faz acontecer e trabalha rápido (trabalha)
Sinais vermelhos, sinais vermelhos
Você me apoiou, mas não o suficiente
E eu corri por milhas tentando te alcançar
Agora estamos quites, voltamos do zero
