After serving as the frontman of bluegrass group The SteelDrivers from 2008 to 2010, Stapleton released his debut studio album Traveller in 2015, which reached number one on the US Billboard 200 and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Among several accolades, he won the Country Music Association Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards for Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year, and the Grammy Award for Best Country Album and Best Country Solo Performance at the 58th annual ceremony. His second studio album, From A Room: Volume 1 was released on May 5, 2017, reached number two on the US Billboard 200, and to date has surpassed 500,000 units sold. Six months later, Stapleton released follow-up album, From A Room: Volume 2, which, like its predecessor, debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200.
Stapleton was born in a Lexington, Kentucky hospital. His mother worked at the local health department and his father was a coal miner. He comes from a family of coal miners.[12][13] He has an older brother and younger sister.[14][15]
Stapleton grew up in the small town of Staffordsville, Kentucky, which is located just outside of Paintsville, located between the city and the Paintsville lake. He graduated from Johnson Central High School where he was his class valedictorian and attended Vanderbilt University where he studied engineering, but dropped out after a year.
Stapleton is married to singer-songwriter Morgane Hayes, who co-wrote Carrie Underwood's 2006 single "Don't Forget to Remember Me". She had a recording deal with Arista Nashville. The couple met when they were working at adjacent publishing houses. They have two children and live in Nashville.

And today dealt me another hand of heartache that I'll play
What we said and what we meant
Two different things, just some words and rings
And time keeps raising the stakes
Tonight I'll find you in my dreams
And tomorrow I'll wake up and have to feel you fade away
Tears filled with pain and they fall like rain
Constant reminders every day
Without your love
The sky is grey
Without your love
I'm waiting on the sun shine
Without your love
Every hour is the darkest time of day
And every moment's a crime
And every moment's a crime
The more I live without you
Just can't get around you
Nobody else can set me free
Baby, please come back to me
Baby, please come back to me
Without your love
The sky is grey
Without your love
I'm just waiting on the sun shine
Without your love
Every hour is the darkest time of day
And every moment's a crime
Without your love
And every moment's a crime
Without your love
And I'm just doing my time
Without your love
And every moment's a crime
The lyrics of Chris Stapleton's "Without Your Love" express the pain and longing of a man who has lost the love of his life. The song narrates how he wakes up every day hoping to find a way to go on without her, but every moment feels unbearable. He acknowledges that what they said and meant were two different things, and despite owning some words and rings, time keeps raising the stakes. The heartache he feels is evident when he says he will find her in his dreams tonight, and tomorrow he will have to feel her fade away.
The song is an emotional narration of how time doesn't heal the deep wounds left by the absence of a loved one. The lyrics are simple and straightforward, but they pack a punch in terms of emotions. The way he repeats the phrase "without your love" in every verse shows how much she meant to him and how empty his life is without her. The metaphors of the sky being grey, waiting for sunshine, and every moment being a crime indicate how bleak and hopeless he feels.
In conclusion, "Without Your Love" is a song that anyone who has lost a loved one can relate to. The lyrics are raw and emotive, and Chris Stapleton's delivery adds to the depth of the song's message. The song's simplicity and honesty make it stand out and offer comfort to anyone going through heartache.
