In 2008, after five solo album releases, and nine with Passion, Tomlin made the move from Texas to Atlanta to be a worship leader for Giglio’s new church, Passion City Church, with its first service being held in February of 2009. Tomlin has since released four solo worship albums, two Christmas albums, and one live album.
In 2013, Tomlin’s seventh album Burning Light debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart, becoming only the fourth album by a Christian artist to top that chart, along with Butterfly Kisses (Shades of Grace) by Bob Carlisle, You Light Up My Life by LeeAnn Rimes, both in 1997, and TobyMac's Eye On It in 2012.
Tomlin has recorded some of the most famous songs ever in Christian music, such as How Great Is Our God, Holy Is The Lord, Our God, and Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies)
Throughout his successful career, Tomlin has won 22 GMA Dove Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, and a Grammy.

Come Let Us Worship
Chris Tomlin Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Before the Lord, Most Holy
Before the King of Glory
Come and lay your burdens down
Before the Friend who's faithful
Before the One who's able
And we are His people
He is our God
And we will never be forsaken
Come, let us lift our voice in praise
Unto the Rock of Ages
Unto the God who saves us
Come and glorify His name
All the earth together
All the saints forever
For He is our God
And we are His people
Yes, He is our God
And we will never be forsaken
You are our God
And we are Your people
Yes, You are our God
And we will be with You
Yes, You are our God
And we will be with You forever
Forever
These lyrics are about coming together as believers to worship and honor God. The song opens by calling us to worship the Lord with reverence and humility, acknowledging His holy and glorious nature. It then invites us to bring our burdens to Jesus, who is our faithful friend and able to heal and restore us. We are reminded that God is our God and we are His people, and that we will never be forsaken by Him. This phrase is repeated multiple times throughout the song to emphasize the unbreakable bond between God and His children.
The second half of the song focuses on praising and glorifying God through music and song. We are called to lift our voices in praise to the Rock of Ages, the God who has saved us. The lyrics remind us that worship is not exclusive to one group of people, but that people from all walks of life and all corners of the earth can come together to glorify God. The song concludes by reaffirming that God is our God and we are His people, and that we will be with Him forever.
Overall, the lyrics of this song encourage believers to come together in worship, to lay down our burdens and lift our voices in praise to God. It emphasizes the unchanging and faithful nature of God and our eternal connection to Him as His people. It is a beautiful call to worship that is both encouraging and uplifting.
