Even So Come
Chris Tomlin Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

All of creation
All of the earth
Make straight a highway
A path for the Lord
Jesus is coming soon

Call back the sinner
Wake up the saint
Let every nation shout of Your fame
Jesus is coming soon

Like a bride waiting for her groom
We'll be a Church ready for You
Every heart longing for our King
We sing "even so come"
Lord Jesus, come
Even so come
Lord Jesus, come

There will be justice, all will be new
Your name forever, faithful and true
Jesus is coming soon

Oh, like a bride waiting for her groom
We'll be a Church ready for You
Every heart longing for our King
We sing "even so come"
Lord Jesus, come
Even so come
Lord Jesus, come

So we wait
We wait for You
God, we wait
You're coming soon

So we wait
We wait for You
God, we wait
You're coming soon

Like a bride waiting for her groom
We'll be at Church, ready for You
Every heart longing for our King, we sing

Like a bride waiting for her groom
We'll be at Church, we'll be ready for You
Every heart longing for our King, we sing "even so come"
Lord Jesus, come

Even so come
Lord Jesus, come
Even so come
Lord Jesus, come

Even so come
Lord Jesus, come

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Even So Come" by Chris Tomlin reflect the anticipation and longing for the return of Jesus Christ. The song begins with a call for preparation and readiness for the coming of the Lord, with the imagery of making a path for Him to arrive. The repetition of "Jesus is coming soon" underscores the sense of urgency and excitement for this anticipated event.

The lyrics then shift focus to the state of humanity, calling for both sinners and saints to awaken and recognize the imminent return of Jesus. The desire for every nation to proclaim the glory of God's name emphasizes the universal significance of this momentous occasion.

The imagery of a bride waiting for her groom is a powerful metaphor for the relationship between the Church and Jesus Christ. The Church is depicted as eagerly anticipating the arrival of their bridegroom, longing for His presence and desiring to be ready to receive Him with open hearts.

The repeated refrain "Even so come, Lord Jesus, come" expresses the earnest longing and hope for the fulfillment of God's promises and the establishment of justice and renewal in the world. The final verses of the song emphasize the readiness and waiting of the Church for the imminent return of Jesus, with a combination of expectation, faith, and devotion in the face of the unknown timing of His coming.

Isn't it amazing, the bible begins with, "In the beginning God created....." and ends with, "Even so come Lord Jesus!" 🙌🙏🙌👏👏👏

Amen!!! Maranatha!

@Melissa Hopeful unbelieveable. God says two times "do not add to or take away any word". I pray that all sisters and brothers stay strong in their faith, relying on the KJV and NKJV (which is the KJV written in English for us to understand easier). While we wait for His return! ❤

Amen! God put this samw revelation in my heart earlier this week! I love God's word from the first word in Genesis to the last word in Revelations! And it begins with God creating every thing on earth, and then Jesus inviting us to His kingdom!

@Melissa Hopeful you know what is still in tact though? Salvation through Jesus Christ alone. You seem bogged down in details.

Sadly, the Bible is being attacked and supernaturally changed by Satan and the witches at CERN using demonwave technology. It no longer ends with "Even so com Lord Jesus". They've added, "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen." Sounds innocent enough, but it's not. I ask, where did "forgive us our trespasses" in the Lord's Prayer go? Now it's "debts". And where did "wineskins", "denarius", and 100 other words go? Now it says "bottles" instead of "wineskins", when bottles weren't even invented until 1600! I ask myself, "where did judge not, lest ye be judged go?" I've asked these questions to others and no one can answer. Also, Isaiah 11:6 has been completely butchered! It now says: "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them." But it used to say: "And the lion shall lay down with the lamb and the bear shall eat grass like the ox, and the child shall play on the hole of the asp and nothing shall hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain." (Isaiah 11:6). There are many videos of preachers, tv shows, and programs quoting it the original way, and some are getting deleted by YT.

Also, the kjv used to say, "Consider the sparrows..' it's now "ravens" (Lk 12:24). Boaz is now Booz.(Matt 1:5, LK 3:32). Malachi 4:2 now says, "sun" of righteousness, but it was uppercase and said 'Son' of Righteousness. It still even reads that way in the typed notes in some bibles.

And now the word "matrix" is in the kjv bible! And "take up thy COUCH", in Luke 5:24?! Couches weren't even invented until around 1900!. Also, "My citizenship is in heaven"...now its "conversation" in Phil 3:20.

Were the 10 commandments written on tablets or tables? Ex 32:15. "Tables" just doesn't seem right to me. Arron's sons now wear "bonnets" and "girdles"!! Not kidding! Look it up for yourself. That's only a few from the KJV, but other translations have supernaturally changed also.
