Mad House
Creature Feature Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

La la la la la la la la
Where did all this begin
my malicious tale
So rife with loathing, despair, and revenge
Picture this
a home could grow aware
Would this explain why I now live in fear
Sometimes the razor's dull
and doesn't cut enough
Sometimes it definitely cuts too much

All of this aggression
and fury inside me
Has seeped into the bones of this old house
Year by year
the rage was building up
And my short fuse has turned against me now
Sometimes the razor's dull
and doesn't cut enough
Sometimes it definitely cuts too much
Sometimes the anger doesn't always manifest
Sometimes the anger's like a hornet's nest
I don't know how much I can take
I simply must get out of this mad house
Nowhere to hide
I can't escape
I really think it's gunning for me now
You can't imagine
how I ache to toss a match
And burn the whole thing down
I pray in time it's blown away
To nothing but a big hole in the ground

Would I get an answer
if these walls could talk
Would they explain why they now want me dead
Was it me?
Am I a wicked man?
Was this monster born of my own two hands?
Some days it's tame
doesn't spill too much blood
Some days it's crazed
and can never get enough
Some days it's still
like the calm before a storm
Some days I wish I was never born
I don't know how much I can take
I simply must get out of this mad house
Nowhere to hide
I can't escape
I really think it's gunning for me now
You can't imagine how I ache to toss a match
And burn the whole thing down
I pray in time it's blown away
To nothing but a big hole in the ground

It's grown hungry
rather famished
Smelling blood
and turning savage
Now it's learning
forming habits
Sentient
and wreaking havoc
It is growing
gaining traction
Can't give up
I must take action
It is scheming
gaining reason
Making plans
becoming brazen
It is living
in existence
Cognizant
without a conscience
Shaping tactics without lenience
Setting traps to restore balance now

Get me out of this mad house
I'll die in this mad house

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Creature Feature's "Mad House" paint a vivid picture of the intense and unsettling atmosphere of a house that seems to have taken on a life of its own. The singer speaks of their "malicious tale" - a story of loathing, despair, and revenge that has become a part of the very walls of the house. The idea of a house growing aware, becoming sentient and malevolent, is a chilling one that sets the tone for the rest of the song.

The singer describes their growing anger and frustration with the house, which seems to have taken on aspects of their personality. They speak of a "short fuse" that has turned against them and the way the rage has "seeped into the bones" of the building. The imagery of the "razor" - something that can cut both too little and too much - adds to the sense of danger and unpredictability.

As the song progresses, the house seems to become even more menacing, with the "monster" that may have been born of the singer's own hands threatening their very life. The sense of desperation and helplessness is tangible as the singer speaks of wanting to "toss a match and burn the whole thing down" but also praying that it will simply be "blown away to nothing".

Overall, "Mad House" is a powerful and haunting depiction of a house that has become a monstrous force, consuming and corrupting those who dwell within it.

I love your songs about the creepy crawlies that are in both you mind and reality. Especially when you can't sleep in your dark room.

@cfchaos2129

Waiting for this has driven me MAD! The song is as brilliant as the two men who created it, and I feel extremely honoured to be amoung the earliest to hear it.

@elensaago7612

I listened Creature Fearture when i was 13yr old creepy kid, now i am 19 and i listen it while I'm studying. And I'm still creepy kiddo by heart.

@Morworld

edgy

@joshmcirish352

They're getting better and better, and they already started off great.

@HKtraidon

Am i the only one who feels this song is like the prequel to the house of myth?

@KingCheshireZorua

HKtraidon It's possible. Alternatively, it could be set after House of Myth, and from the point of view of someone who didn't listen to the warnings about the house.

@tiffanycatlan9733

HKtraidon SAME!

@rufuscord7160

***** But then why would this person be hesitant to burn the house down or think that it's there own fault that this happened to the house also in the house of myth the house looks old  and rundown and the house in this song looks relatively new and well kept so if anything it'd half to be a prequel if there related to each other at all.

@ReddZArtz

That makes sense omg
