Letting You Go
David Guetta Lyrics

'Cause this is where we crash and burn
And now every time i face this pain
I can hear it coming back again
It's the sound of letting go.
It's the sound of letting go.
It's the sound of letting go.
It's the sound of letting go.
Breaking up and breaking down
This is what we've come to now
What's the use we can't deny
Can't you hear it?
It's the sound of letting go.
We could go around all day
Fine excuses we can say
In the silence i can hear
Can't you feel it?
It's the sound of letting go.
It's getting louder and louder
What we gonna do?
It's getting louder and louder
Fillin' up the room.
I can hear it hear it
Comin' over us.
I can hear it tellin' me that we had enough
It's getting louder and louder
What we gonna do?
It's getting louder and louder
Fillin' up the room.
I can hear it hear it
Comin' over us.
It's the sound of letting go.
I know you can hear it.
It's the sound of letting go.
I know we can't deceive it.
I know you can hear it.
It's the sound of letting go.
I know we can't deceive it.
It's the sound of letting go.
I can't let it break me down
This is what we've come to now.
What's the use we can't deny (can't you hear it?)
It's the sound of letting go.
Every time i face this pain
I hear it coming back again
And i've been calling out your name (can't you hear it?)
It's the sound of letting go.
I can hear it.
I can hear it.
I can hear it.
It's the sound of letting go.
I can hear it
I can hear it
It's the sound of letting go.
I can hear it
I can hear it
It's the sound of letting go.
The lyrics to "Sound of Letting Go" by David Guetta, Tocadisco, and Chris Willis convey a sense of acceptance and resignation towards the end of a relationship. The singer recognizes that they have reached a point of no return, and that the only outcome left is to "crash and burn." They describe the pain of the situation as something that "comes back again" and "fills up the room." The repeated refrain of "it's the sound of letting go" emphasizes the idea that the only way to move forward is to release the attachment to the past and accept the inevitability of the present.
The song speaks to the universal experience of experiencing a relationship's final stages. The singer begins by acknowledging that they can't change the situation, focusing on the prevalence of excuses and the inability to deny what's happening. As the melody grows more urgent and intense, they continue to repeat the refrain, acknowledging the inevitability of the breakup. The song builds to an emotional climax when the singer recognizes that they can't let the pain break them, ultimately accepting the sound of letting go as the necessary path forward.
Overall, "Sound of Letting Go" is a poignant reflection on the pain of letting go of a relationship. The lyrics convey a sense of acceptance and understanding about the situation, sensitively acknowledging the emotional turmoil that often accompanies endings.
