It was in 2006 that David Walters released Awa, his first album on the Ya Basta label! with the single "Mesi bon dyé", an adaptation of a prayer written by the Haitian guitarist Frantz Casseus in 1954. Three years later, in 2009, he released Home, teaming up with artists as Asa or Arthur H.
In 2011, he was selected by Canal + to host the program "Les Nouveaux Explorateurs". From then on, we see him traveling to the four corners of the world, in Africa, in South America or in Asia to meet colorful characters who live by and for music. Influenced by these trips, David Walters produced the NeverStopExploring mixtape in 2015 before leaving, this time for New Orleans, to participate in the Nola Is Calling project which builds bridges between the city and its African roots.
He released Soleil Kréyol under the Heavenly Sweetness label on the 31th of December 2019 teaming up this time with Seun Kuti, Ibrahim Maalouf, Vincent Segal, Marine Thibault and Célia wa.

People ask me what do i like most
I don't want to brag, I don't want to boast
I just tell em I like toast
Yeah Toast!
When the first man came from Bregg.
Didn't know what to do with the bacon and the egg
Plugged in the toaster
Popped int he bread
Make Toast
Toast
Maricea didn't have enough power
To make it up the eiffle towe
French Toast!!
Yeah Toast
Toast
David Walters's song Toast is a playful and whimsical tune that celebrates the simple pleasure of a breakfast staple - toast. Through the lyrics, Walters takes listeners on a journey across the country, as people ask him what he likes most. Rather than boast or brag, he responds that he simply likes toast. The repetition of the word "toast" throughout the song emphasizes just how much joy this simple food item brings to Walters.
Walters then takes listeners back in time to the origins of toast. When the first man came from Bregg, he didn't know what to do with his bacon and egg. He went to the store, bought a loaf of bread, popped it in the toaster, and voila - toast was born. The lyrics make it clear that this was a revolutionary moment in culinary history, and one that should be celebrated.
The song then takes a playful twist, as Walter's sings about Maricea's failed attempt to make it up the Eiffel Tower because she didn't have enough power. The song ends with a joyful repetition of the word "toast" as Walters revels in the simple pleasures of life.
Overall, the lyrics to Toast are a lighthearted homage to a food item that is often taken for granted. Through playful lyrics and joyful repetition, Walters encourages listeners to appreciate the simple things in life.
