Deep Insight was formed in early 2002 in Kokkola, Finland by childhood friends Jukka (vocals) and Johannes (guitar). They soon found Joachim (drums) and Kaj (bass), cousins to each other, to complete the band.
The first release, Julia ep, was a theme record focused around the life and death of Julia, a character created by Jukka and Johannes on their crazy road trip to Paris in the winter of 2001. It actually gained many good reviews, most of them praising the young band’s promising songwriting and Jukka’s exceptional voice. It also got the band’s name spread around the music industry.
In 2003 big things started to happen for Deep Insight. The band recorded their debut album Ivory Tower at Soundtrack Studios in Helsinki, Finland, and Kaj was replaced by Miska on bass. Miska instantly gave a whole new meaning to sayings “ripping the bass” and “man uses his instrument like he uses his women”. The album came out in May, and the band started their first ever European tour.
Timing was perfect; Deep Insight’s mix of American rock and emo with Scandinavian influences was received with great enthousiasm amongst the audience and critics. It was only back home in Finland where the response was more reserved. Deep Insight soon returned to Germany, The Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and Latvia for summer festivals, and in October, it was time for the third foreign tour, a 5-week European adventure.
The second album "Red Lights, White Lines" was recorded and mixed in June-July 2004 with producers Jens Bogren (Katatonia, Lambretta) and Jonas Olsson (Callisto), who also supervised the pre-production before letting the band enter one of Sweden’s finest studios, Fascination Street (ex-Kuling) in Örebro. Finally, the album was mastered by Thomas Eberger (Bo Kaspers Orkester, Nine, Raised Fist) at Cutting Room in Stockholm, Sweden. And the sound and songs turned out great. Some critics gave it a rating 10/10 some gave it a 3/5.
Joachim decided to move to pastures new after the recording sessions and in came Ville. The third album "One Minute Too Late" came out in 2006 and is stylistically more diverse, including e.g. Mexican influences (on Five Minute Murder). After a while Miska also decided to leave the band, and along came Jore to fill his place.
After a little break in July 2008 the band was back to the studio recording new album. And this time they spent more time on making it instead of the usual one month locked inside. The release of the album is due to next spring. However, first single Rock With My Band will hit the stores in Finland on the 18th of February and digitally released on the 2nd of February in iTunes.
Deep Insight is back on the road and the Eropean tour starts in the end of April 2009.

Deep Insight Lyrics

Now I've got to pay for it
I'm looking for an answer
But there is no question here
I try to remember
The reason not to say goodbye
And when it's time to surrender
You hit me with a smile
There's a bad girl in every good girl
She's dangerous
There's a bad girl in every good girl
She's dangerous
There's a bad girl in every good girl
She's dangerous
I'm living with a stranger
I've never been afraid of us
The city is a playground
But I don't like the way you touch
I try to remember
Reason not to say goodbye
There's a bad girl in every good girl
She's dangerous
There's a bad girl in every good girl
She's dangerous
There's a bad girl in every good girl
She's dangerous
You cut like a knife
You're the venomous type
Come closer
I live for this thrill
But you've come for the kill
I know it's over
There's a bad girl in every good girl
She's dangerous
There's a bad girl in every good girl
She's dangerous
There's a bad girl in every good girl
She's dangerous
The lyrics of Deep Insight's song Dangerous explore the concept of duality within every person, specifically focusing on the idea that there is a "bad girl" within every "good girl." The singer is addressing someone who wanted their attention, but now they have to pay the price for it. They are living with a stranger and are unsure of how to proceed. While the city may be seen as a playground, the way this person touches the singer is concerning. Despite this, the singer tries to remember the reasons for not saying goodbye, but they are hit with a smile that distracts them from their doubts.
The chorus repeats several times, emphasizing that there is a "bad girl" within every "good girl," and that this person is dangerous. It seems clear that the singer is aware of the potential danger this person poses, but they are still drawn to them. This is evident in lines such as "You cut like a knife / You're the venomous type," which indicate that the attraction to the danger is a strong one. However, the singer knows that it is over and that the other person has come for the kill, so there is a sense of finality and melancholy in the ending.
Overall, the lyrics of Dangerous explore the complex nature of human relationships and how we are drawn to certain people despite the potential danger they may present. The singer wrestles with their own feelings and uncertainties, ultimately acknowledging that this attraction is not sustainable.
