Bang!
Dizzy Gillespie Lyrics

Bang bang bang
Bang bang bang
Is it the way that you're movin'
The way that you're makin' my heart beat
Is it the sound of your voice
The way that you're talkin' to me
Is it the scent of your hair
The look of your smile, I don't know

Is it the way that you're dressed
You believed you're the best
No, I think it's the look in your eyes
Bang, bang, bang
You drive me insane, sane, sane
Bang, bang, bang
Bang, bang, bang, insane, sane, sane
Bang, bang
Na na
Bang, bang

Is it the look of your face
I'm losin' my base (can't you see)
Is it the style of your walk
Or the way that you talk, I don't know

Is it the way that you're dressed,
That you believe you're the best
No, I think it's the look in your eyes
Like bang, bang, bang
You drive me insane, sane, sane
Bang, bang
Hit me like bang, bang, bang
Bang, bang, bang, insane, sane, sane
Bang, bang

It's november 2014, it's friday, I have an exam to take this afternoon and as usual I didn't study enough. I woke up in the morning and listened to this and now I'm happy.
Have a great weekend world ;)

Life is about the journey, not the destination, so let’s have ourselves some jazz into our lives :)

"Bang Bang" did not begin as a novelty tune, although some DJs and other artists who covered the tune treated it as one. Dizzy Gillespie, (the clown prince of jazz) certainly did. But Bang Bang was an honest reflection of the encounter of the large and important Puerto Rican migration to New York that began in the 1950's, and their encounter with African-American funk and soul musics of the 1960's. "Bang Bang" was a direct result of that musical encounter, and it marked the beginning of a new genre of music known as Bugalú. Novelty tunes are one-offs; they don't spawn entirely new genres of music. Because "Bang Bang" did in fact give birth to an entirely new genre that was a direct reflection of real cultural conditions in New York it should be considered much more seriously than just as a novelty tune.

Dizzy never disappoints me! This tune is another lovely gem. Dizzy and James Moody singing duet crack me up. :)
