1) A Popular French rock group Dolly got together in Nantes, a town in the west of France, in 1991. Their formation came about thanks to drummer Thierry Lacroix and singer Emmanuelle Monet - aka Manu - who shared a mutual passion for English and American music. The Anglophile duo teamed up with two musician friends - bass-player Mick Chamberlin and guitarist Nicolas Bonniere (who was just 15 at the time!) - and went on to make a name for themselves on the local music scene as Dolly & co.
Dolly and C°'s early influences might have been lifted from the best chapters of an English/American rock compendium - indeed, the group's sound was heavily influenced by the likes of Blondie, Prince, the Pixies and the Smashing Pumpkins. But lead singer Manu's greatest source of inspiration was the work of English indie diva PJ Harvey. The young French singer was fascinated by Harvey's deep, melancholy vocals and, after seeing PJ in concert, Manu decided to accompany her own singing on guitar. Performing extensively on the local music scene, Dolly and C° soon began to build up an extensive repertoire (most of which was written by Manu). And before long the group attracted a massive following of fans.
Encouraged by this early success on the local music scene, Dolly and C° went into the studio to begin work on their debut album. After producing a mini album (featuring six tracks), Dolly and C° went on to produce their first full-length album themselves. (The album, entitled simply "Dolly and C°, actually scored a considerable hit on the national music scene, selling over 85,000 copies).
Shortly after the release of their début album, the group underwent several major changes in their line-up, re-inventing themselves as Dolly. The new-look Dolly went on to sign a recording deal with the East West label and then returned to the studio to set to work on a new CD album.
2) Dolly (alternative tag: Dolly) is a Japanese indie visual kei rock band formed in 2005 and currently signed to FUJI PRODUCTION.
Boasting a melodious guitar sound and a stylish musical sensibility that's dark and rich with attitude, band Dolly lures audiences into their elaborate fairy-tale world with their fusion of catchy radiance and a darkly distorted perspective.

Le temps qu'il nous reste
Dolly Lyrics

Je nai plus sommeil
Tu as le regarde docile
Sans reves immobiles
Le temps quil nous reste vivre
Est compt
Je veux tanimer et dire
Du temps quil nous reste vivre
De nos deux mes enlaces
Parfois le temps nous en fout
Plein la vue surtout
Pardonne je te laisse mes ailes
Moi je vole mieux sans elles
Le temps quil nous reste vivre
Est compt
Je veux tanimer et dire
Du temps quil nous reste vivre
Jai rev
De nos deux mes enlaces
Il y a trop longtemps dj
Le jour se faisait dans tes bras
Je ne connais rien qui ne puisse
Me troubler encore et plus fort
Mais puisque tu es mon silence
Comme tu es mes cots
Pourquoi tuer le silence
Et pourquoi me laisser en vie
Le temps quil nous reste vivre
Est compt
Je veux tanimer et dire
Du temps quil nous reste vivre
Jai rev
De nos deux mes enlaces
The song "Le temps qu'il nous reste" by Dolly is a deeply emotional and nostalgic ballad about the fleeting nature of time and the desire to make the most of what little time we have left. The lyrics speak of a long-standing love, with the singer admitting that they have loved their partner for a very long time and that they cannot sleep because of their overwhelming feelings. The lover's gaze is described as "docile" and "without immobile dreams", conveying a sense of peacefulness and contentment in the knowledge of their mutual affection.
However, the singer acknowledges that the time they have left together is limited, and that they want to make the most of it. They express a desire to be animated and to say all the things they have been keeping inside, before it's too late. The chorus repeats the phrase "Le temps qu'il nous reste vivre est compté" (the time we have left to live is counted), driving home the sense of urgency and the need to cherish every moment. The singer also speaks of having dreams about their two souls being intertwined, a romantic and hopeful image that contrasts with the underlying theme of mortality.
As the song progresses, the singer wonders why they should disturb the silence between them, since their partner is their peace and their companion. The final lines are a repetition of the chorus, emphasizing the importance of making the most of the time they have left together.
Overall, "Le temps qu'il nous reste" is a powerful and poignant reflection on the transience of life and the importance of cherishing the people and moments that matter to us.
