Don Caballero (affectionately called "Don Cab" or "The Don" by fans) formed in the summer of 1991, released five albums on Touch and Go Records between 1993 and 2000, then disbanded in November 2000. Drummer Damon Che recruited new personnel for a reconstituted Don Caballero in 2003, but this new lineup has been met with mixed reception from fans. They have since signed to Relapse Records and released a new album, titled World Class Listening Problem, on May 16, 2006.
From the Desk of Elsewhere Go
Don Caballero Lyrics

Get away from there
Go somewhere else
I have to do my homework
Desk, desk, desk
Full of pens, it's where it's at
Go elsewhere now, get your own
Hey, don't touch that
That's very important
That piece of paper is mine
Mine, I say, mine!
The song 'From the Desk of Elsewhere Go' by Don Caballero is an intricate and offbeat piece that explores the possessive nature of an individual regarding their personal space. The lyrics of the song seem to be directed towards someone else who is invading the space of the singer, and they are trying to get them to leave. It's unclear who the other person is, but they seem to be a nuisance to the singer who is trying to do their homework at their desk. The singer is very possessive of their desk and sees it as a special place filled with pens and paper, and they don't want anyone else to touch it.
Furthermore, the song has a satirical touch to it and plays with the idea of self-centeredness and possessiveness. The singer speaks in a tone of ridicule, making fun of the absurdity of their own behavior. The phrase 'Get your own' implies that the singer is highly territorial with their possessions, and they won’t allow anyone else to use them. Although the song is short and doesn’t reveal too much information, it manages to capture the listener's attention with the humor and oddity of the lyrics.
