Don Caballero (affectionately called "Don Cab" or "The Don" by fans) formed in the summer of 1991, released five albums on Touch and Go Records between 1993 and 2000, then disbanded in November 2000. Drummer Damon Che recruited new personnel for a reconstituted Don Caballero in 2003, but this new lineup has been met with mixed reception from fans. They have since signed to Relapse Records and released a new album, titled World Class Listening Problem, on May 16, 2006.
The World in Perforated Lines
Don Caballero Lyrics

Let's all rock, get up and dance
Around the globe it's very fine
Everybody's doing it in perforated lines
Latitude and longitude all over the world
We got to get together, love one another
No lines, no borders
We got to perforate, break it up, break it down
And Don Caballero's got the grooviest licks around
(Sax solo)
Tra la la, la la la la
Tra la la, whoa hooyah hey
The song "The World in Perforated Lines" by Don Caballero is a call for unity and breaking down barriers of all kinds. The first verse begins with the famous rhyme "I see London, I see France" which then leads into the invitation to dance and let loose. The idea of a global party is emphasized with the line "Around the globe it's very fine". As the song progresses, the focus shifts to geography and how people are divided by lines and borders. The line "We got to get together, love one another, no lines, no borders" highlights the importance of breaking down these barriers to achieve unity among all people.
The chorus emphasizes the need to "perforate, break it up, break it down" which can be interpreted as breaking down boundaries, borders and even societal norms. The song ends on a celebratory note with the repetition of the nonsensical phrase "Tra la la" which reinforces the idea of having fun and being carefree.
Overall, this song speaks to the importance of unity and breaking down barriers in order to achieve a better world for all.
