El Flojo
Dueto Alanniz Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

La casa se está cayendo
No la quieres componer
Te doy clavos y martillo
Y tú prefieres beber

El techo tiene agujeros
Tiene hoyos por doquier
El agua se está metiendo
Tengo mojados los pies

Pero por más que te pido
Que me vengas a ayudar
Me dices que estás enfermo
Que no puedes trabajar

Que le llame a tu compadre
Pa'que me venga auxiliar
No pienses que la comadre
Me lo va a querer prestar

Desde ahorita yo te advierto
Que te tienes que curar
Porque si sigues durmiendo
Yo te mando al hospital

No me vuelvas a decir
Que le llame a tu compadre
Porque te voy a advertir
Se lo cambio a mi comadre

Y a ti te voy a mandar
A dormir toda la tarde
No me vengas a asustar
Que te vas con la comadre

Por mí ya te puedes ir
Ya no me andes estorbando
Dedícate a divertir
Y a pasar el día flojeando

Y ve dile a tu compadre
Qué le vamos a pagar
Para ver si la comadre
Me lo va a querer prestar

(Y así se canta bonito, Tere Mora
Dueto Alanniz, si señor)

Porque mira te lo advierto
No te quiero lastimar
Pero si sigues durmiendo
Yo te voy a castigar

No me vuelvas a decir
Que le llame a tu compadre
Qué pena voy a sentir
Si lo sabe la comadre

Yo te voy a demandar
Con nuestro amigo el gendarme
Qué susto se va a llevar
Cuando lo sepa tu madre

Si quieres te puedes ir
Ya no te andaré rogando
No te vas a corregir
Y yo ya me estoy cansando

No te voy a maldecir
Ni a mandarte con el diablo
Yo ya no voy a sufrir
Nomás porque estés flojeando

Y te me vas a dormir
Pa'que no estés estorbando
Yo me voy a divertir
Tú a pasar el día flojeando

Recuérdale a tu compadre
Que aquí lo estoy esperando

Que le diga a la comadre
Que lo tengo trabajando

Overall Meaning

These lyrics tell the story of a deteriorating house, and the frustration and disappointment of one person towards another who refuses to fix it. The first verse describes the state of the house, with a falling roof and water leaking in, while the singer's feet are getting wet. The second verse reveals the singer's plea for help, to which the other person responds by claiming to be sick and unable to work. Instead, they suggest calling their friend to assist.

In the third verse, the singer warns the other person that they must get better because if they continue sleeping and neglecting their responsibilities, they will be sent to the hospital. The frustration intensifies in the fourth verse, as the singer expresses their unwillingness to involve the friend and threatens to involve their own friend instead. They also threaten to send the person to sleep all afternoon and not to scare them, as they will go with the singer's friend.

In the fifth verse, the tone shifts, and the singer declares that the person can leave and stop bothering them. They urge the person to indulge in idleness and pass the day leisurely. Additionally, they instruct the person to inform their friend that they will pay them to see if their friend's partner would be willing to lend assistance.

The sixth verse reiterates the warning that the singer doesn't want to hurt the person but will punish them if they continue to sleep. They express feelings of embarrassment if the person constantly suggests calling their friend, especially if their friend's partner finds out. The singer threatens to take legal action and involves a police officer friend. They anticipate the shock the person's mother will experience when she learns about the situation.

In the seventh verse, the singer declares that the person is free to leave as they are tired of pleading. They no longer believe the person will change, and they refuse to suffer because of their laziness. The singer assures that they will not curse or send the person to the devil but emphasizes that they will not endure the consequences of their laziness. They instruct the person to sleep and not hinder them. The singer then says they will go have fun while the person spends their day idly. They conclude the verse by reminding the person to inform their friend that they are waiting for them and need their assistance.

These lyrics depict a frustrated individual who is tired of their companion's laziness and negligence. The singer has reached their limit and threatens to involve others and take action if the person doesn't change their ways. They no longer wish to be burdened and are willing to let the person go, while also asserting their desire for the assistance they need.
