After becoming a police officer, like his father, during the late 1960s, Money began to be interested in music, and eventually ended his law enforcement career in favor of becoming a musician. He moved to Berkeley, California and became a regular at area clubs, where he eventually got enough attention to secure a recording contract with Columbia Records. Later in the 1970s, he charted with singles such as "Baby Hold On" and "Two Tickets to Paradise". Money continued his successes and took advantage of the MTV music video scene in the early 1980s with his humorous narrative videos for "Shakin'" and "Think I'm in Love", but his career began to fail him after several unsuccessful releases in the mid-1980s, accompanied by his struggles with drug addiction.
Money made a comeback two years later in 1986 and returned to the mainstream rock spotlight with the album Can't Hold Back, which featured a Ronnie Spector duet with "Take Me Home Tonight", which reached the Top 10, along with the hit "I Wanna Go Back". Money followed the album with another Top 10 hit, late 1988's "Walk on Water", but his Top 40 career ended when "I'll Get By" charted in 1992. During the 1990s and 2000s, Money continued to release numerous compilation albums along with several albums featuring new material. Today, he still tours the "Oldies" circuit regularly, often accompanied by other successful rock acts from his era, and has also made several television appearances on American sitcoms. Since 1992, Money has traditionally opened the summer concert season for DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI.
Eddie Money passed away from complications related to esophageal cancer in 2019 at the age of 70.
Another Nice Day in L.A.
Eddie Money Lyrics

I’ve been sittin’ here for hours in a brighter sun, what a day down in L.A.
Hollywood girls on the boulevard
Tight pants rockers trying to make a start
She jumped right in; she said “I know who you are”.
I said hey “Hey!” It’s another nice day, another nice day in L.A.
It’s okay “Hey!” It’s a beautiful day, another nice day in L.A.
Friday you were cruising in the limousine
You got no money, you just wanna be seem to lookin’ good
Oh, like you should
Well I woke up this morning there was smoke in my eyes
I saw the beggars and millionaires standing outside
‘Till they’re looking for love but nobody’s got the time, oh, nobody
I said hey “Hey!” It’s another nice day, another nice day in L.A.
It’s okay “Hey!” It’s a beautiful day, another nice day in L.A.
Look at me, I’m on the beach just a-lying in the sand
And looking hard at such shape of things
I swim so smaller than a diamond ring
And lucky how we’re made to win a brand new car
Beverly Hills, like a movie star
I can get to the top but I don’t wanna work that hard
I said hey “Hey!” It’s another nice day, another nice day in L.A.
I said hey “Hey!” It’s a beautiful day, a beautiful, beautiful day
I said hey “Hey!” (na na na na na na na) It’s another nice day
Another nice day in L.A.
It’s okay “Hey!” (na na na na na na na) a beautiful, beautiful day
I said hey “Hey!” (na na na na na na na)
It’s another nice day, another nice day in L.A.
Hey hey hey “Hey!” (na na na na na na na)
It’s another nice day, (na na na na na na na)
All in L.A., I said hey “Hey!”
The lyrics to Eddie Money's song "Another Nice Day in L.A." describe a day in Los Angeles, where the singer has been stuck in traffic on the 101 freeway and is surrounded by Hollywood girls and aspiring musicians. Despite the initial frustration of being stuck in traffic in the hot sun, the singer finds comfort in the relaxed atmosphere of Los Angeles, where it's "another nice day."
As the song continues, the singer observes the stark contrast between the wealthy and the poor who live side by side in Los Angeles, and the superficiality of Beverly Hills. The lyrics suggest that the singer sees through the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles and finds beauty in the simplicity of a day at the beach.
Overall, "Another Nice Day in L.A." is a commentary on the paradoxical nature of Los Angeles: a city that is both frustratingly congested and yet filled with opportunities for success, but also filled with both the wealthy and the destitute living side by side. The song suggests that despite these complexities, there is something inherently pleasant about living in Los Angeles.
