After becoming a police officer, like his father, during the late 1960s, Money began to be interested in music, and eventually ended his law enforcement career in favor of becoming a musician. He moved to Berkeley, California and became a regular at area clubs, where he eventually got enough attention to secure a recording contract with Columbia Records. Later in the 1970s, he charted with singles such as "Baby Hold On" and "Two Tickets to Paradise". Money continued his successes and took advantage of the MTV music video scene in the early 1980s with his humorous narrative videos for "Shakin'" and "Think I'm in Love", but his career began to fail him after several unsuccessful releases in the mid-1980s, accompanied by his struggles with drug addiction.
Money made a comeback two years later in 1986 and returned to the mainstream rock spotlight with the album Can't Hold Back, which featured a Ronnie Spector duet with "Take Me Home Tonight", which reached the Top 10, along with the hit "I Wanna Go Back". Money followed the album with another Top 10 hit, late 1988's "Walk on Water", but his Top 40 career ended when "I'll Get By" charted in 1992. During the 1990s and 2000s, Money continued to release numerous compilation albums along with several albums featuring new material. Today, he still tours the "Oldies" circuit regularly, often accompanied by other successful rock acts from his era, and has also made several television appearances on American sitcoms. Since 1992, Money has traditionally opened the summer concert season for DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI.
Eddie Money passed away from complications related to esophageal cancer in 2019 at the age of 70.
Fall in Love Again

Hopin' that the wind and rain is clear
Layin' down by the river
Wearin' out my old blue jeans
So many things have come between us
Gotta stand up and move around
I just wanna fall in love again
I just wanna fall in love again
Ah, with you
I still love to go to the river
Ah, just to wash my blues away
And the wind is still blowin'
But without you, oh the rain don't feel the same
I can see by the tears in your eyes
I don't wanna live on a memory
I just wanna fall in love again
I don't want our dreams to ever end
I just wanna fall in love again
Ah, be with you, with you, yeah
All alone at night with everything you need
Reflections in the mirror is all you really see
You're just someone else and I can't live on a memory
I just wanna fall in love again
I don't want our dreams to ever end
Say you wanna fall in love again
I don't want our dreams to ever end
I just wanna fall in love again
Ah, baby, with you, with you
I wanna fall in love again
Oh, oh, oh
The lyrics of "Fall in Love Again" by Eddie Money express the singer's desire to rekindle a romantic relationship that has hit a rough patch. He seems to be searching for a way to make things right between him and his partner, hoping for a brighter tomorrow and an end to the obstacles that have come between them. He yearns to be with his loved one again, to feel the wind and rain with them, to wash away his blues with a trip to the river with them. He acknowledges the sadness in his partner's eyes and wants to move beyond the memories they share to build a new future.
The song's lyrics capture the complex emotions that arise when trying to repair a relationship after a difficult time. The singer seems both hopeful and uncertain, acknowledging that the path ahead may not be clear but that he is willing to take a chance on love again. The repetition of the chorus underscores the importance of this desire for connection, as the singer repeats his plea to fall in love again and keep their dreams from ending.
With its catchy melody and honest lyrics, "Fall in Love Again" is an anthem for anyone who has struggled to keep a relationship alive. It reminds us that love takes work but that the rewards are worth it in the end.
