Tu casa está cerrada
El Último Ke Zierre Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to El Último Ke Zierre's song "Tu casa está cerrada" deal with the difficult reality of life and the injustices that exist in the world. The singer expresses sadness and disappointment that the waters of the Strait of Gibraltar were not silenced when hope and life crossed it. The moon and stars did not shine brightly, and the dogs on the beach were not blinded to the injustice. The only thing that was left was the morning, revealing the footsteps of those who had crossed, the shame of their bodies on the sand, and the uncertainty of how many more would die the next day.

The singer questions the neighbor if they know how many people will die the next day and how many deaths it will take for them to stop ignoring the situation. The singer desires for change and is fed up with the lack of concern from society. There is a pervasive sense of hopelessness in the lyrics, as the singer describes the absence of basic necessities such as water, peace, shade, bread, shelter, and work in what is supposed to be a Christian society.

In the end, the singer accuses the listener of not wanting any more aromas and having closed their house's doors to the winds of change. The message is clear: change and justice are necessary, and it takes more than one person to make it happen.
