And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed
Nothin' seems to fit
Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling
So I just did me some talkin' to the sun
And I said I didn't like the way he' got things done
Sleepin' on the job
But there's one thing I know
The blues he sends to meet me won't defeat me
It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me
Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Crying's not for me
Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothing's worrying me
The lyrics of "Raindrops Keep Fallin" by Emilie-Claire Barlow are about accepting what you cannot change and finding peace within yourself despite the circumstances. The song begins with the singer talking about how raindrops keep falling on their head, and they can't seem to find anything that fits them or their situation. They then express frustration with the sun for not doing its job and sleeping on the job, leaving them exposed to the rain. However, the singer knows that the sadness and blues that come with the rain won't defeat them, and happiness will come around soon enough. They conclude by stating that crying won't solve anything, and they won't try to stop the rain by complaining because they are free and nothing is worrying them.
The song seems to be about the idea of accepting what we can't change and finding inner peace regardless of external circumstances. The rain serves as a metaphor for the troubles in life that we can't control, and the sun represents the things we wish were different but can't make happen. The lyrics imply that instead of fighting against things we can't change, we should focus on staying positive and finding happiness within ourselves.
Overall, the song's message is one of resilience and optimism in the face of adversity. It encourages the listener to keep pushing forward, even when things are tough, and to find peace in their own inner strength.
