Esperanza Lyrics

A sombra ficou,
A noite desceu, levando o brancor
Ah, Ah, Ah!
A mata dormiu,
O vento acabou,
A folha caiu,
Ah, Ah, Ah!
O ramo gemeu,
O ninho vibrou,
O rio bebeu as nuvens do céu.
Ah, Ah, Ah!
O eco passou bem perto daqui,
As vozes levou,
Rompendo manhãs ao morrer
Ah, Ah, Ah!
The lyrics of Esperanza's song "Tarde" paint a vivid picture of the setting sun and the coming of night. The first line, "A garça voou, A sombra ficou" (The heron flew, the shadow remained), suggests the transition from daytime to evening as the heron flies away, leaving behind the shadow cast by the setting sun. The following lines describe the natural elements slowly coming to rest and the quietude that ensues. "A mata dormiu, O vento acabou" (The forest fell asleep, the wind ceased) convey a sense of stillness and calm.
The lyrics further evoke a tranquil atmosphere with the imagery of a falling leaf making a soft sound as it touches the ground, "A folha caiu, Fazendo rumor ao tocar" (The leaf fell, creating a sound upon touch). The song continues with the depiction of various elements of nature responding to the approaching night. "O ramo gemeu, O ninho vibrou" (The branch groaned, the nest resonated) portrays the subtle movement and reactions within the natural environment.
As the song progresses, the lyrics express the drinking of the clouds by the river, creating a beautiful image of water reflecting the sky. "O rio bebeu as nuvens do céu" (The river drank the clouds from the sky). The final lines of the song, "O eco passou bem perto daqui, As vozes levou, Rompendo manhãs ao morrer" (The echo passed close by here, carrying the voices, breaking mornings upon dying), suggest the fleeting nature of sound and the power of its resonance.
Overall, the lyrics of "Tarde" capture a sense of tranquility and the natural world's response to the setting sun, inviting listeners to appreciate the beauty and stillness of the evening.
