I genuinely don't get why From just didn't reuse the Story trailer as intro for Elden Ring, it is a better executed context given. While I like the "Arise Tarnished" slideshow part just for the narrator, it doesn't do much for context. And nothing beats the classic DS1&3 hyping up main bosses.

I love the DS2 intro the most. Instead of trying to hype up the main bosses like DS1 and 3 do or trying to be overly dramatic (and less vague) like Elden ring it gives you a feeling of despair and misery. It’s not epic or loud like Dark Souls 1, 3 or Elden Ring, it’s very understated and I think that works well in its favour because Drangleic is a very depressing place.

@@theryddle3362 ... Yes i have? the one that stood out to me the most was bloodborne. that has an entire opening cutscene with dialogue where it reveals your motives to find the pailblood, lets you create your character. and shows you a beast and the little skeleton guys i forgot the name of.

Really? It is one of my favorites, but also was my first dark souls. I played vanilla for the very first time and the intro made me fall in love really hard with the art designs and lore.
