A mulherada, toda apreensiva,
E no final a surpresa é geral,
Dançava até o Tamagochi, aquele bicho virtua
Forró de Tóquio is a song by Falamansa that tells the story of a forró being played in Tokyo, Japan. The first and second verses emphasized the role of the accordionist or the sanfoneiro, who played the xote beat, a part of forró music, in the forró of Tokyo. The song then gives us a glimpse of the ambiance of the forró, where elements of Brazilian and Japanese cultures were blended. The singer talks about the mix of saquê, a traditional Japanese drink, and xiboquinha, a typical drink served in forrós in Brazil. The Japanese dancers were seen to be enjoying this more than karate.
The song then goes on to narrate how the singer was put on the defensive when he noticed that there were gringo or foreign nationals around the party. He expressed his surprise that some people had not connected forró music to Brazil. However, in the end, the samurais, who were initially a bit uncomfortable, felt comfortable enough to join the dance floor. The final line of the song expressed the surprise of everyone at the party, as they watched a Tamagochi, a virtual pet that was popular in the 90s, dancing to the music.
