The lyrics to Falz's song "E No Finish" address issues of corruption, indiscipline, insecurity, greed, unemployment, nepotism, and the overall state of Nigeria. The song starts off by expressing frustration with the corruption and disregard for the lives of citizens, highlighting the sickening reality of the situation. Falz criticizes the wealthy few who hoard millions of dollars while many people struggle to find food to eat and resort to extreme measures like prostitution to survive. He emphasizes that this is not just a club song but a serious matter that needs to be addressed.
Falz references the legendary musician Fela Kuti, who was known for his outspokenness and activism. He acknowledges that Fela had spoken about these issues before, but it seems like they are far from being resolved. The song raises questions about when these problems will be fully tackled and when the suffering will end. Despite the grim realities, Falz doesn't shy away from using his voice to continue speaking up about these issues. He emphasizes that he has a lot more to say and refuses to stay silent until change is brought about.
Overall, "E No Finish" is a powerful critique of the situation in Nigeria, highlighting the need for accountability, justice, and a genuine effort to address the various social and economic challenges the country faces.
