Fats Domino Lyrics

That you've been seen out runnin' around
I know that I should leave, but then
I just can't go
You win again
This heart of mine could never see
What everybody knows but me
What can I do
You win again
Yes this heart of mine could never see
What everybody knows but me
Just trusting in you was my great sin
What can I do
You win again
The song "You Win Again" by Fats Domino is a classic tale of lost love and broken trust. The lyrics tell the story of a man who has just found out that his partner has been cheating on him. The news has spread all over town, yet he finds himself unable to leave her. He laments that he was too trusting and that his heart is unable to see what everyone else already knew about her infidelity. He knows he should leave, but he just can't go. He acknowledges that trusting in her was his great sin, but ultimately, he is powerless against her allure. The song ends with him resigning himself to his fate, defeated by her once again.
This song speaks to the universal experience of heartbreak and the feeling of being powerless to a lost love. Fats Domino's smooth voice and catchy piano accompaniment make the song's message all the more poignant. It reminds us that sometimes we can be blind to things that are obvious to those around us, especially when it comes to matters of the heart.
