The World
Ferry Corsten Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Into the streets
We’re coming down
We never sleep
Never get tired
Through urban fields
And suburban lights

Turn the crowd up now
We’ll never back down
Shoot down the skyline
Watch it on prime time
Turn up the love now
Listen up now, turn up the love

Who’s gonna save the world tonight?
Who’s gonna bring it back to life?
We’re gonna make it, you and I
We’re gonna save the world tonight

It’s far from home
It’s for the better
What we dream, it’s all that matters
We’re on our way, united

Turn the crowd up now
We’ll never back down
Shoot down the skyline
Watch it on prime time
Turn up the love now
Listen up now, turn up the love

Who’s gonna save the world tonight
Who’s gonna bring it back to life
We’re gonna make it, you and I
We’re gonna save the world tonight

Who’s gonna save
Who’s gonna bring
We’re gonna make it, you and I
Who’s gonna save

Who’s gonna bring
We’re gonna save the world tonight

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Ferry Corsten's song "The World" express a call for action and unity to bring the world back to life. The opening stanza sets the tone with the line "Into the streets, we're coming down." This line sets up the idea that it's time to get active and to come together to make things happen. The following lines of "We never sleep, never get tired" express that when we are passionate and driven about a cause, we don't get worn out or deterred.

The next stanza talks about the idea that it doesn't matter where we come from or where we live, we are all united in this mission to save the world. This is symbolized by "Through urban fields and suburban lights." The chorus of the song then brings the rallying cry of "Who's gonna save the world tonight? Who's gonna bring it back to life? We're gonna make it, you and I." This line captures the idea that we all have a part in saving the world, and that it takes everyone working together to make it happen.

The bridge brings back the idea of "It's far from home, it's for the better." This line expresses the idea that the work being done isn't easy, and it may not even be convenient, but it's for the greater good. Coming together and making a difference may require sacrifice and stepping out of comfort zones, but it's worth it to make a positive impact on the world.

Overall, the lyrics of "The World" are a call to action for people to come together and make a difference in the world. The lyrics celebrate unity and express the idea that it takes everyone working together to make a significant impact on the world.
