Ferry Corsten Lyrics

I’m staring at these curtains, they’ve been shut since you walked away
I didn't know love could break you and make you bleed
Crush you then cut you deep
I can’t remember when I got up and saw the light of day
They say time is a healer
To show you
Show you the way
They say time is a healer
Making you stronger
Well if that’s the case
Then how am I still wounded
Time is a healer
Life is a teacher
Time is a healer
I still remember how it used to feel lying next to you
If only I could get you off my mind wipe away these blues
They say time is a healer
Life is a teacher
To show you
Show you the way
They say time is a healer
Making you stronger
Well if that’s the case
Then how am I still wounded
Time is a healer
Life is a teacher
Time is a healer
Making you stronger
They say time is a healer
Making you stronger
Well if that’s the case
Then how am I still wounded
Time is a healer
Making you stronger
Time is a healer
Making you stronger
The lyrics to the song 'Wounded' by Ferry Corsten & Morgan Page are a heartfelt representation of the pain and confusion that comes with heartbreak. The first verse paints a picture of the aftermath of a break-up, where the singer is unable to remember the last time they saw daylight and all they can do is stare at the closed curtains since their lover left. The second verse is about how the singer feels the wreckage of the relationship settling in, as they come to the realization that love can break you, make you bleed and leave you crushed, cut deep and wounded.
The chorus repeats the idea that time is a healer and life is a teacher but raises the question of why the singer is still in pain, even though time has passed. They cannot shake off the memories of their past relationship, and they wonder how they can move on, become stronger and heal from the heartbreak. The chorus also reiterates that time is a teacher and a healer, but the pain of heartbreak can take a while to disappear. In the end, the song is a poignant reflection on the ups and downs of romantic love.
