With the release of Serpentine two years later, the band would build on the work they did with Jade, adding a slightly more up tempo, less depressing sound. After the release of Serpentine, Stefanie Duchêne had to leave the band. Her pregnancy was incompatible with the high sights of the band. She is currently working on her solo career. Their current vocalist is Helen Vogt. With a sound similar to that of Serpentine, and Vogt's vocal similarities with Stefanie Duchêne's vocals, the band released their 5th studio album, Razorbliss.
On October 20, 2004, just seven months after the release of "Razorbliss", two founding members of Flowing Tears, Björn Lorson and Cristian Zimmer, died in a car accident.
Exactly 4 years after the accident, on October 20, 2008 they released their sixth studio album, titled Thy Kingdom Gone. It is a concept album containing 12 songs, along with artwork made by Seth Siro Anton, who is known for doing artwork with Moonspell, Soilwork, and Paradise Lost.

12 For Tonight
Flowing Tears Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
For a while the lifeboats have passed
For a while children corroded
And all we see is Utopian grasp
For tonight I feel not sorry
For tonight a cigarette for god
For tonight don't dare to call me
I'm out for a walk.
For a life, for god and the nation
For a life forget how to love
For a life walking courageous
And all we fear is the heaven above
And for now I drink to the faithless
To the weak, the crippled, the tall
And for now, tomorrow and anon
Don't you now I don't care at all?
The song "For Tonight" by Flowing Tears reflects on the dystopian world where the beauty of life has withered away, and all that remains are corroded children, lifeboats passing by, and a desperate grasp at utopia. The singer of the song is someone who has lost faith in God, society, and the nation as a whole. He takes solace in smoking cigarettes and going out for walks, as he tries to separate himself from the bleakness of the world around him. The lyrics also reflect on the human condition, where people forget how to love and become driven by fear. The singer raises a toast to the faithless and the weak, indicating his disenchanted view of humanity.
The lyrics to "For Tonight" are a poignant commentary on the human condition and how it can lead to a dystopian society. The lines "For a life, for god and the nation/For a life forget how to love" indicate the singer's despair at the state of the world, where people are more concerned with their country and God than with love and compassion for their fellow humans. The chorus "For tonight I feel not sorry/For tonight a cigarette for god/For tonight don't dare to call me/Cause I'm not here. I'm out for a walk" reveals the singer's desire to escape the world and its problems, even for just one night. The final lines of the song "Don't you now I don't care at all?" speak to the singer's hopelessness and indifference towards society and its problems.
