This song is about moving on from a toxic relationship and realizing that the person she was with was toxic and controlling. The lyrics describe how she was once in love with this person, but as time went on, she began to feel trapped and pressured to please this person. She even admits that she mistook her love for this person as an obsession because of the way the person treated her.
The song contains lyrics that express how she felt trapped in the relationship, unable to escape the pressure that the other person placed on her. The person would constantly tell her that no one else would ever love her the way they did, and that she needed to seek their approval, as well as the approval of others. However, as time went on, she came to the realization that the relationship was toxic and that the other person was only looking out for their own ego.
The chorus of the song reiterates the fact that the relationship is no longer about the other person. She has learned from her experience and is no longer susceptible to toxic relationships. She has grown and moved on from the relationship, and the song ends on a powerful note of self-love and growth.
