The band released two albums: "Drive Thru Booty" in 1995 and "More Of Everything For Everybody" in 1996. The debut album features the hit single "Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out". "Song #6" from the band's follow-up album was featured in the critically-acclaimed 2004 movie Code 46.
The band broke-up after exhausting touring and Norman Cook thought he'd make a go of his little side project Fatboy Slim. Some of the tracks for the rumoured follow-up to "More of Every..." were re-worked for the first album from the solo project "Ashley Slater's Big Lounge".
What It Is

And what you eat says who you are
And what you see is all you gonna get
Tell me what is what you is?
If what it is, is what it was
And where it's at, is where it should have been
And where I am, is where am I?
You got to stand back, and take a look
You don't have to live your life by the book
Look underneath the skin, see what is in
Look out for the man
If where you're coming from
Is where you've already been
And What's happening brother has happened
And why am I is the reason why I am, please tell me
What it what you is
In Freakpower’s song “What It Is,” the singer poses a set of philosophical questions about identity and existence. The singer observes that people tend to define themselves through superficial markers such as clothing and food, and that one’s perception of reality is limited by what they can see. The crux of the matter, then, is determining what truly defines one’s being. The singer also plays with notions of time and space, suggesting that the past and present are interconnected in some way and that a person’s place within this scheme of things is equally significant. In essence, the song challenges listeners to examine their preconceptions and dig deeper to uncover the essence of their identity.
Throughout the lyrics, the singer repeatedly implores the listener to “tell me what you is.” This refrain underscores the ambiguity and complexity of the topic at hand. The song suggests that life is not something that can be easily summed up in a few words. It requires a deeper exploration of self and a willingness to question what we think we know.
