als zu der Weihnachtszeit:
S'ist als ob Engelein singen
wieder von Frieden und Freud'.
: Wie sie gesungen in seliger Nacht. :
Glocken mit heiligem Klang,
klinget die Erde entlang!
schnell sie das Christkindlein hört;
tut sich vom Himmel dann schwingen
eilig hernieder zur Erd'.
: Segnet den Vater, die Mutter, das Kind. :
Glocken mit heiligem Klang...
Klinget mit lieblichem Schalle
über die Meere noch weit,
daß sich erfreuen doch alle
seliger Weihnachtszeit.
: Alle aufjauchzen mit herrlichem Sang. :
Glocken mit heiligem Klang...
The song "Süßer die Glocken nie klingen" by Freddy Quinn is a traditional German Christmas carol. The lyrics describe how sweetly the bells ring during the Christmas season, as if the angels are singing of peace and joy. The song goes on to say that when the bells ring out, it is said that the Christ child hears them and comes quickly down from heaven to bless the family with peace and love. The final verse suggests that the sound of the bells carries over the oceans, spreading joy to all during the Christmas season.
