Il debutto di Fritz Da Cat avviene con un paio di brani pubblicati sotto il nome di L'Anima Nera, uno dei due brani La Mia Nave Va appare tra l'altro sulla compilation Rap Machine sponsorizzata dalla Philips.
Nel 1998 esordisce ufficialmente con l'album che porta il suo nome e che riscuote un grande successo sulla scena underground grazie alle numerose collaborazioni: Esa, Left Side e Sab Sista, Bassi Maestro, Turi e I Compari, DJ Gruff, Mauri B, DJ Lugi, Marya, Didez, Yoshi, Piotta e Cricca Dei Balordi. A tutt'oggi pezzi come La Famiglia o Sucker Per Sempre, contenuti nell'album, sono ritenuti classici della discografia del genere hip hop.
L'anno seguente avviene la riconferma come ottimo produttore: Fritz pubblica Novecinquanta, titolo scaturito dall'Akai 950, utilizzato dal DJ per realizzare le proprie basi strumentali. Gli ospiti del disco sono DJ Lugi, Piotta, Kaos, Neffa, Inoki e Joe Cassano, Bassi, Rido, Cush, Deda, Yoshi, DJ Inesha, Fabri Fibra, Lyricalz, Polare, Sean e Lord Bean. I pezzi di maggiore successo sono Non C'è Limite Allo Show (inserito nell'album solista di DJ Lugi, Ca'pù), Schiaffetto Correttivo, Se Non Fumassi, Street Opera, Cose Preziose e Giorno e Notte (inserita anche in Dio Lodato, album postumo di Joe Cassano). Lo stesso anno collabora come MC in La Strada, album di Joe Cassano, e in Sindrome Di Fine Millennio, progetto degli Uomini Di Mare.
Nel 2001 esce quello che, ad oggi, rimane l'ultimo lavoro di Fritz Da Cat : l'album "Basley Click". Basley Click è un progetto che vede Fritz Da Cat alle produzioni dei beat, e Fede (rapper del duo Lyricalz) e Fabri Fibra al microfono, a dar vita a un album più completo e omogeneo dal punto di vista musicale e contenutistico, in quanto non semplicemente una compilation. Il disco contiene featuring di DJ Lugi, Turi e Nesli, ed è stato registrato e mixato nello studio milanese di Bassi Maestro, con l'ausilio dello stesso Bassi. Basley Click è un'autoproduzione, realizzata con mezzi ridotti e non supportata da alcuna pubblicizzazione, tuttavia ottiene successo nell'underground e ben presto le copie esauriscono.
