The band went through three different lead singers, Chris Carrabba (Dashboard Confessional), Jason Gleason(Affinity, and later ActionReaction) and finally Jon Bunch (Sense Field). The final line-up:
Jonathan Bunch - Vocals (Sense Field)
Josh Colbert - Guitar
Chad Neptune - Bass Guitar (Strongarm)
Steve Kleisath - Drums (Strongarm, Shai Hulud, En Masse)
Derick Cordoba - Guitar.

The band also appeared on numerous compilation discs such as Emo Diaries Volume 4, Punk Goes Pop, A Santa Cause: Its a Punk Rock Christmas, and Rock Music: A Tribute to Weezer.
In late 2005, FSF went on a long hiatus. And in January 2006, the band posted a message on their website announcing that their shows in early 2006 through the United States and Canada would be their last as a band. During its existence, FSF gave more than a thousand performances. The individual band members proceeded to new jobs. There would be no new album project, but a compilation entitled Hope This Finds You Well was released by Tooth & Nail Records in April 2006. The band also indicated there would be a DVD release of videos and live performance scenes entitled "The Final Curtain". As of late 2010, it was announced the reunion of the band alongside the original singer, Chris Carrabba. Their fourth studio album, Penny Black, was released in 2012.
The name "Further Seems Forever" reflects the band's feelings, being constantly away from family and loved ones while on tour.
The Band Reunited and has planned a tour for 2011
Way Down
Further Seems Forever Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Order inspires disorder
Constants divide along a sharp line
Way down deep inside
Way down deep inside
The will is strong the blood is rising
So be careful to know the lines
And to keep distance far from the other side
Time's unabated
Lie down or learn to trust the
Wave after wave
Crash crash all around us
How could we live well and off alone
Way down deep inside
The pain's an awful truth to
All arrive and subdivide
Make something that you can use
Or the weight of it will weigh you down
Way down deep inside
It's a long dark fall through a long dark night
Time's unabated
Stand up or learn to take it
'Cause it well could be the last time you will feel the
Wave after wave
Crash crash all around us
How could we survive it on our own
Wave after wave
Crash crash all around us
How could we live well and off alone
Well and off alone, well and off alone
I can't live well and off alone
I can't live well and off alone
Time's unabated
Stand up or learn to take it
'Cause it well could be the last time you will feel the
Wave after wave
Crash crash come between us
How could we survive it all on our own
Crash crash come between us
How could we survive it all on our own
Way down deep inside
Order inspires disorder
Way down deep inside
Way down deep inside
The lyrics to Further Seems Forever's song "Way Down" convey themes of inner turmoil, order and chaos, and the struggle to survive amidst the onslaught of life's waves. The opening lines suggest that order can sometimes lead to disorder and that constants can create sharp divides. The repetition of the lines "way down deep inside" implies the depth of the emotions being expressed in the song. The will to survive is present even amidst the pain, and the imagery of rising blood is evocative of the struggle within.

I can't believe this album exists...it's maybe even better than I thought it could be. Doesn't sound like Dashboard - I don't understand how your minds work! That harmony at 2:38 that leads into that awesome guitar hook, wow!
