My Name
Galleon Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Can′t you see, my life, my pleasure, my pain
See it baby
Who may dare take these away
Don't you feel, on me a spectral agony
Where is the place of our daily dreams
Tell me baby
I don′t wanna fight for their game
But just for my name
Can't you hear mothers weeping for their children
Hear it baby
It'll be better, to live together,
Don′t you think, we are in need of love

But it′s harder to form than to destroy
You know it baby

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Galleon's song "My Name" are a reflection of the artist's personal struggles and the universal desire for recognition and acceptance. The opening lines, "Can't you see, my life, my pleasure, my pain, see it baby, who may dare take these away?" suggest that the singer is feeling vulnerable and exposed. They are asking the listener to acknowledge their existence and the depth of their emotions. The repeated reference to "my name" throughout the song reinforces this idea of individual validation and identity.

The second verse, "Can't you hear mothers weeping for their children, hear it baby, it'll be better, to live together," shifts the focus to a more communal perspective. The singer is calling attention to the suffering of others and the need for unity and empathy. However, they also recognize the difficulty in achieving this unity, as "it's harder to form than to destroy."

Overall, "My Name" is a plea for recognition, empathy, and understanding. It acknowledges the challenges of both individual and collective identity, but ultimately asserts the importance of personal validation and the need to work towards a more loving and compassionate world.

Not bad? Galleon, Modjo, Aloud... All they are (or were) AMAZING.
Of course not as relevant as Daft Punk, but their french house (more pop and comercial oriented) is also great.
Try not to compare them. There's no need to do so. Just enjoy it, man.
