The recent villains aren't really villains, they're all people who could've been good if circumstances were different.
Imo Giovanni was the only real villain, he was a mafia boss and hardened criminal after all. Ghetsis also qualifies. The rest are all trying to change the world for what they believe is for the better, except for Lusamine who goes a bit bananas after her husband vanished.

I think I can say that Team Skull definitely was one of the best teams. They were believable and just totally disorganized. Guzma never even had a real plan or caused any major harm to Alola. I’m definitely joining Team Skull

I agree. For me team skull are my favorite above all. I like how they're not evil, but they're bad. They're gangster's and not evil-doers. Unlike other teams like team flare, galactic, rocket/rainbow, plasma/neo and aqua and magma, team skull are unorthodox and unique. They also have the best walk in the game. And Guzma is the best boss, dresses casually, has tats and doesn't wanna take over the whole world, just wants to take people's girls and get 1 over Kukui

Guzma's so tragic , dude.
He's always come in second or third place , he couldn't cut it as a kahuna, and he's quite hard on himself when he loses. But at the same time you realize that he halfway has the right attitude. He doesn't blame his pokemon, just himself.
And then you hear The only reason he's willing to help out Lusamine is because she's the only one who recognized his talent as a trainer.
He never ends up changing his bad attitude, but you can tell he would like a chance to redeem himself... just on his own terms. He doesn't want guidance even though deep down he knows he needs it. He wants to prove himself on his own. At least until you can chose to multibattle alongside him in the Battle Tree.

His dad will say something along the lines of "trying to straighten him out" and mention how one day, Guzma fought back. You can also see some broken golf clubs strewn about, all dented out of shape. Put two and two together, and it becomes clear.

Also, as an aside, I'm pretty sure it's not until the post-game that it's mentioned that it's his house.

i know this is a joke, but in video games i think the reasons why most bosses use weaker attacks first is to tire you out, so when the big attack comes you'll be more tired from all the dodging you had to do, plus the health you might have lost while dodging, so the big attack has more of a chance to kill you. if the big attack comes first then you might pass it, and it'll just be weak attacks from then on out (unless if the boss has more strong attacks) if the big attack is first and if you die to the big attack you can retry the boss and every time you die you learn the attack more and more and it makes it easier to dodge it, where if the big attack was in the middle of the fight you'd have to dodge all the other attacks in order to get a chance to learn how the attack works, which makes it harder to memorize. sans does both, one strong attack in the beginning and one in the end

When I actually first met Guzma in Pokemon Moon I actually didn't think he was evil even though every member of Team skull kept telling me how "bad" he is. I thought he was more nice and comedic than anything. That's probably why I like Guzma, he's not what he seems like
He isn't as evil as he's presented
He actually does care about pokemon especially his own pokemon unlike other Team leaders
He seems like someone that is just bitter about not being better at first but later on you can see that he actually blames losing only on himself and not on his Pokemon while sadly also being really hard on himself

He’s almost one of the most intimidating Team leaders simply because of how blunt he is. He straight up trash talks you and says he’s better, and if it weren’t for protagonist power he probably would be, not to mention he is a physical unit, towering over every one in the region even when slouched. Guzma is a force to be reckoned with, and I hope we see him come back in a game after Sword and Shield

EDIT: Not to mention he also cares for and loves his rag tag group, he has a very kind heart underneath all that angst, making him one of the most powerful, and most kind hearted Team Leaders in the Pokémon Series

Remember, at one point in time, Guzma turned in his application to become a Gym Leader and it was openly rejected multiple times over because Gym Leaders base their entire teams on type synergy and balance. Guzma does not

This is why he formed Team Skull. He wanted to prove he was better then any Gym Leader. I do love how he didn't have the qualifications to become a Gym Leader but he ends up getting his own floor in the Battle Tree and he seems quite content with his new place in the world. Gotta start somewhere.

Let's be honest, Guzma was already a challenge, and Bug has some solid and terrifying Pokémon, such as Scolipede, Scizor, and most notably, Quiver Dance Volcarona. Imagine what could happen if Guzma had a full-offense team in his rematches.

I find it pretty interesting how Guzma was always 2nd/3rd best, when in all honesty, he's a damn good trainer. The rematch at Lusamine's manor in Ultra Sun was one of the few real roadblocks in my otherwise relatively painless playthrough. Dude's got serious skill. When you think about it, it’s kinda symbolic why Guzma specialises in Bug-type Pokémon.

Guzma sees him as an outcast and a reject. Bug-type Pokémon are commonly outcasted and rejected by Trainers for their early evolutions and supposed weaknesses. So it made sense Guzma found Bug-types relatable.

Yep he lives in the house south of the Berry Master's Fields. The theme probably doesn't play because team Skull disbanded after Guzma comes back.

I really like how team skull isn’t even the true evil team and the true evil team is actually a surprise unlike the reveal of Lysandre being the leader of team flare. It was so obvious.
