The core of Geggy Tah comprises Greg Kurstin and Tommy Jordan. Each of them has a younger sister who was unable to pronounce her brother's name when very young; "Geggy" and "Tah" were the baby girls' mispronunciations of their brother's names.
Geggy Tah's first release, Grand Opening, appeared in 1994 on David Byrne's Luaka Bop label. For their 1996 release Sacred Cow, they added drummer Daren Hahn to the lineup. Also on Luaka Bop, the album spawned the hit single "Whoever You Are." The song appeared in a Mercedes commercial circa 2001.
In 1999, the band announced a new album entitled Music Inspired by The Fragrance, and released two songs ("Space Heater" and "Sweat") on the web in mp3 format. However (in part because of Luaka Bop's move from Warner Brothers to Virgin Records) the album went unreleased until 2001, by which point it had acquired a new title: Into The Oh.

and how you make me feel
I realize before my eyes
eternity is real
I taste eternity
I taste eternity
I taste eternity hee hee hee
Cupid had a harpoon
Cupids not a cartoon
Cupid really works and sweats.
Sweat is the perfume of lovers
sweat is the best perfume
sweat is the perfume of love
la la lady girl
ladies got a love swirl
looks like the universe
works and sweats.
Sweat is the perfume of lovers
sweat is the best perfume
sweat is the perfume of love
The best feeling I…
can't describe the fear
the second feeling I've felt
is when I turn a tear
when I turn a tear
when eternity
when I turn a tear hear hear hear
the sweat of all the love in the world
the sweat of all the love
all the love in the world
sweat is the perfume of lovers
sweat is the best perfume
sweat is the perfume of love
The lyrics to Geggy Tah's song "Sweat" contain themes of love, eternity, and the physicality of human connection. The first verse speaks to the singer's deepening understanding of their partner and the way they make them feel. The line "eternity is real" suggests a long-term and enduring connection. The repetition of "I taste eternity" reinforces the idea that the singer is experiencing something profound and lasting.
The second verse takes a more playful tone, with references to Cupid and the idea of love as something that requires effort and even physical exertion ("Cupid really works and sweats"). The chorus brings all of these ideas together, using the metaphor of sweat as a symbol of love and passion. The singer suggests that sweat is the best perfume, implying that the messiness and rawness of love is what makes it so powerful and real.
