The core of Geggy Tah comprises Greg Kurstin and Tommy Jordan. Each of them has a younger sister who was unable to pronounce her brother's name when very young; "Geggy" and "Tah" were the baby girls' mispronunciations of their brother's names.
Geggy Tah's first release, Grand Opening, appeared in 1994 on David Byrne's Luaka Bop label. For their 1996 release Sacred Cow, they added drummer Daren Hahn to the lineup. Also on Luaka Bop, the album spawned the hit single "Whoever You Are." The song appeared in a Mercedes commercial circa 2001.
In 1999, the band announced a new album entitled Music Inspired by The Fragrance, and released two songs ("Space Heater" and "Sweat") on the web in mp3 format. However (in part because of Luaka Bop's move from Warner Brothers to Virgin Records) the album went unreleased until 2001, by which point it had acquired a new title: Into The Oh.

All of us are aliens somewhere
She fell like falling in love
It feels so good to arrive
Missing my train
On the tracks
Again I keep falling in-
To the deep end to end to
End to end it all
I can't go get help while I'm breaking
My fall with a note that's wrote
By a woman who eloped
With a man in a black cloak
I got a postcard from a strange cloud
And at the bottom she signed
"All of us are aliens somewhere
all of us are aliens somewhere
Having a great time, love always"
When is she gonna get there?
I wish she wasn't so shy
She didn't play badminton
And it wasn't a joke
She didn't play chess
She just said, "Come on, let's go!"
To the bloke in the cloak who broke
Her yoke and she croaked
Like a baby burping up soul
She could feel better than before
Ever ever before
She got a singing telegram singing
All of us are aliens somewhere
All of us are aliens somewhere
Help yourself by helping another
Help yourself by helping another
All of us are aliens somewhere
All of us are aliens somewhere
All of us are aliens somewhere
All of us are aliens somewhere
All of us are aliens somewhere
All of us are aliens somewhere
All of us are aliens somewhere
All of us are aliens somewhere
All of us are aliens somewhere
All of us are aliens somewhere
All of us are aliens somewhere
All of us are aliens somewhere
All of us are aliens somewhere
The song "Aliens Somewhere" by Geggy Tah speaks to the universality of human experience. The first verse sets the stage for this theme, declaring that "All of us are aliens / All of us are aliens somewhere." This lyric suggests that no matter where we come from, who we are, or what we believe, we are all outsiders in some context.
The song then explores the experience of falling in love: "She fell like falling in love / It feels so good to arrive." This verse contrasts the sense of fear and disorientation that can come with being an outsider with the joy and comfort that can be found in human connection.
The chorus repeats the idea that all people are aliens somewhere, emphasizing that this is not a negative thing, but rather a fundamental aspect of the human experience. The second verse tells a story of a woman who is seeking connection but is held back by her own shyness. The song suggests that we can help ourselves along our journey by helping others.
Overall, "Aliens Somewhere" celebrates the idea that even though we may feel like outsiders at times, we are all part of a larger human family, and we can find meaning and joy in supporting one another.
