1. Multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter Georgia Barnes. Born and raised in a deeply musical household in north west London, Georgia combined music study at London's SOAS with a stint working on the counter at Rough Trade and quickly made a lot of very natural musical connections, being invited to play drums with DIY innovators such as Kwes and Kate Tempest. Georgia herself is a warm, compelling, malleable voice as believable a sensual soul-bearer as she is raucous provocateur.
2. The band Georgia has steadily created a loyal fanbase over the last few years. Comprised of three brothers and a close friend all from the south, they are currently signed with Atlantic Records. They released an EP called the Cabin Sessions Vol. 1, which was recorded live in 2007 while at a log cabin in Blue Ridge, Ga. They have since been working on their first full studio album, recording in LA. More information can be found at www.myspace.com/georgia or www.georgia.sunrise-promotions.com.

Heart Wrecking Animals
Georgia Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Then I spend all day with you
I look into your eyes
I see me in you
But it was more like a heart in a wrecking ball
Coming in floating out of the sky
You holding me like an animal
So in love but we could never fly
We could be more than just good friends
We can be anything if we really try
Oh I
But it was more like a wrecking ball
Covered up and filling into the night
We lifted it up and took it like a solar most
But I never really wanted to try
Oh I oh I mhmm
Mhmm but it was more like just a wrecking ball
Coming up and floating up into the night mhmm
You holding me like an animal
It was never really far from the stars
Oh why
Oh why
It was more like an animal
Oh why
It was more like an animal
Oh why
The lyrics of Georgia's song Heart Wrecking Animals seem to be about a complicated situation between two people who have a strong connection but are unable to fully express their love for one another. The singer wishes that they could "get it right" and be more than just friends, but feels held back by circumstances beyond their control. The metaphor of a wrecking ball and an animal are used throughout the song to convey the intensity and complexity of their feelings.
The line "I see me in you" suggests that the singer sees a reflection of themselves in the other person, indicating a deep level of understanding and connection. However, the image of a heart in a wrecking ball implies that their love is destructive and potentially dangerous, as if they are unable to control its power. The line "we could never fly" reinforces this idea, suggesting that despite their strong feelings for each other, something is preventing them from fully embracing their love and taking it to new heights.
Despite the challenges they face, the singer remains hopeful that they can overcome them and be anything they want to be. However, the final lines of the song suggest that their love is ultimately like an animal - wild, uncontrollable, and unable to be tamed. The repetition of the phrase "Oh why" at the end of the song conveys a sense of longing and confusion, as if the singer is struggling to understand why their love is so difficult to express and fulfill.

I think this is heartfelt and engaging and I LOVE the video. It's simple and it's sensitive. In a weird way it reminds me of Kate Bush. Keep it up Georgia!!
