Her mind, even though she knows how much it's gonna hurt.
Before I say another word let me tell you, I love you,
Let me hold you close and say these words as gently as I can
There′s been another man that I've made it and I've loved but that
Doesn′t mean I love you less and he knows he can′t possess me and he
Knows he never will there's just this
Torn between two lovers,
Feelin′ like a fool, lovin' both of you is breakin′ on the rules.
Torn between two lovers feelin' like a
Fool lovin′ you both is breakin' on the rules.
You musn't think you fail me just because there′s
Someone else you are the first real love I ever had.
And all the things I ever said.
I swear they still are true for no one
Else can′t have that part of me I gave to you.
Torn between two lovers,
Feelin' like a fool, lovin′ both of you is breakin' on the rules.
Torn between two lovers feelin′ like a
Fool lovin' you both is breakin′ on the rules.
I couldn't really blame you if you turn and walked away,
But with everything I feel inside I'm asking you to stay.
Torn between two lovers,
Feelin′ like a fool, lovin′ both of you is breakin' on the rules.
Torn between two lovers feelin′ like a
Fool lovin' you both is breakin′ on the rules.
Torn between two lovers,
Feelin' like a fool, lovin′ both of you is breakin' on the rules.
Torn between two lovers feelin' like a fool...
The song "Torn Between Two Lovers" by Gheorghe Zamfir is a bittersweet love song about a woman who is in love with two men. The song opens with the singer explaining that sometimes a woman has to speak her mind and say what's on it, especially if it's going to hurt. She confesses her love for the person she is speaking to and acknowledges that what she is about to say will hurt. The second half of the song introduces the two lovers and the feelings of confusion that the singer is experiencing. She feels torn between two men, loving them both but feeling like a fool and breaking the rules. She acknowledges each of their special places in her heart and how difficult it is to choose between them.
The song carries a strong message about loyalty and the difficulty of making decisions when it comes to matters of the heart. The singer's honesty in confessing her love for two people is a brave act, but also one that has the potential to hurt all involved. The chorus of the song is repetitive, emphasizing the singer's torn emotions, as if she is struggling to make a choice. The final lines of the song show the singer pleading for the person she is talking to, to stay despite her torn emotions.
