The cast is second behind The Beatles for most chart appearances by a group act in the Billboard Hot 100's history, and holds the record of sixth overall among all artists, with sixty-nine appearances. The cast has sold over thirty six million and over eleven million albums worldwide. The series' cover versions have also had a positive effect on the original recording artists, with sales of Rihanna's "Take a Bow" increasing by 189 percent after the song was covered in the Glee episode "Showmance".
The series features covers of numerous songs sung on-screen by the characters. Musical segments typically take the form of performances, as opposed to the characters singing spontaneously, as the intention is for the series to remain reality-based. Murphy is responsible for selecting all of the songs used, and strives to maintain a balance between show tunes and chart hits, as: "I want there to be something for everybody in every episode. That's a tricky mix, but that's very important — the balancing of that." Song choices are integral to script development, with Murphy explaining: "Each episode has a theme at its core. After I write the script, I will choose songs that help to move the story along."
Glee is choreographed by Zach Woodlee, and features five to eight production numbers per episode. Once music rights are cleared, songs are arranged and pre-recorded by the cast. Woodlee constructs the accompanying dance moves, which are then taught to the cast and filmed. Numbers can take several weeks to prepare, depending on complexity. Each episode costs at least $3 million to produce, and can take up to 10 days to film as a result of the elaborate choreography.

We are young (heartache to heartache)
Heartache to heartache (we stand)
We stand (no promises, no demands)
No promises, no demands
(Love is a battlefield) love is a battlefield
Whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa
No one can tell us we're wrong
Searchin' our hearts for so long
Both of us knowing
Love is a battlefield
You're beggin' me to go
Then makin' me stay
Why do you hurt me so bad?
It would help me to know
Do I stand in your way?
Or am I the best thing you've had?
Believe me, believe me
I can't tell you why
But I'm trapped by your love
And I'm chained to your side
We are young (we are young)
Heartache to heartache we stand (ah-ah-ah)
No promises, no demands
Love is a battlefield (ah-ah-ah)
We are strong (we are strong)
No one can tell us we're wrong
Searchin' our hearts for so long
Both of us knowing
Love is a battlefield
When I'm losing control
Will you turn me away?
Or touch me deep inside?
And before this gets old
Will it still feel the same?
There's no way this will die
But if we get much closer
I could lose control
And if your heart surrenders
You'll need me to hold
We are young (we are young)
Heartache to heartache we stand
No promises, no demands
Love is a battlefield
Oh-oh, whoa, oh
We are strong
No one can tell us we're wrong
Searchin' our hearts for so long
Both of us knowing
Love is a battlefield
“Love Is A Battlefield” by Pat Benatar, covered by the Glee Cast, is a classic rock song that talks about the ups and downs and struggles of love. The song begins with the lyric “We are young” which talks about how we all start out fresh and new, but as we go on in life heartache and love become a game of war. Love is something that we fight for and we fight against, and the battle is hard. Heartache is something that happens to everyone, and it can be hard to fight against. This is what makes love a battlefield.
The chorus of the song talks about how love can be difficult but also how it can bring people together. It says, “Love is a battlefield. We are strong. No one can tell us we're wrong. Searching our hearts for so long. Both of us knowing, love is a battlefield.” This lyric shows that even though love can be hard, it's worth it at the end of the day. It can bring two people together and make them feel strong.
The song overall is a powerful anthem for all those who have ever experienced the pain of love. The lyrics are relatable and the music is catchy, making it a timeless classic. Through the song, the Glee cast effectively conveys the message that in love, there are bound to be ups and downs, but it's something worth fighting for.

@novehmber
Their relationship is the most realistic. They have fights like normal couples, and they love each other. Not everything is picture perfect. And that's what makes Klaine perfectly imperfect

Preach! No but really I agree, I'm glad someone finally said it.
@SnowyMary
Aside from the total meltdown between end of S5 and the out of the blue marriage (I was happy that they're endgame, don't get me wrong) I totally agree. Adore those two and compared to other Glee-couples they were pretty reasonable!

Can't stand Kurt, he's sooo soo annoying.
