Their album "Ridin' the Tiger" in 1997, released on the White Jazz record label, marked a significant breakthrough both artistically and commercially, positioning them among the leaders of the Scandinavian hard rock movement. "Basement Apes," their fourth album, signed with Sony Music, and "Automatic Thrill" became their best-selling record.
Gluecifer performed at notable events such as the 2004 Quart Festival, opening for Monster Magnet. However, the band announced their breakup in July 2005, despite being considered one of Norway's successful rock bands. Their impact extended beyond music, with contributions to the Norwegian film "Izzat," featuring their song "Desolate City" on the 2008 compilation album "Kings of Rock - Best Of And Rarities."
Following the breakup, members pursued individual projects, including Captain Poon forming the band Bloodlights in 2006. Gluecifer's music was also featured in the soundtrack of the film "The Social Network" with the song "Black Book Lodge." In 2015, Gluecifer's studio albums were re-released on Captain Poon's label, Konkurs Productions. The following year, Captain Poon toured as the guitarist for Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg. In 2017, Gluecifer reunited for several festival appearances in 2018 and reunion shows in Oslo.

Light falls and I am on my way
'Coz I?ll nail that picture right through your wall
I got a black bag ready when nature calls
I got a two by fours by one to twelve
I got a generator buzzing with a sound from hell
From hell
I got the powertools and piss
I got the powertools and piss
Well, you called for it once
And now you want it some more
'Coz you're domesticated
And I poop on your floor
I?ll leave a stain in the middle of a carpet so clean
I'm going ancient, baby, if you know what I mean
I got a Titan club for a porcelain bell
Got a generator buzzing with a sound from hell
Alright, with a sound from hell, alright
Yeah, I?ll nail that picture right through your wall
I got a black bag ready when the nature calls
I got a two by four by one to twelve
I got a generator buzzing
I want you all to listen
And I want you all to see
And I want you all to feel it
I got the powertools and piss
I got the powertools and piss
I got the goddamn tools and piss
I got the powertools and piss
The lyrics of Gluecifer's "Powertools and Piss" may shock some listeners with its explicit and crude descriptions, but on a deeper level, it speaks to a rebellious spirit and a rejection of society's norms. The singer in the song is unapologetic about his crude behavior, reveling in his ability to leave a mark on a pristine environment, both physically and emotionally, while using his "powertools and piss". He speaks to the listener, urging them to pay attention to his words and actions, to feel the raw power he wields with his disregard for societal expectations.
The song's lyrics touch upon themes of power, control, and rebellion. The singer views himself as an agent of chaos and disruption, using his instruments of destruction to dominate his surroundings. For him, the act of leaving a stain on a clean carpet or defacing a wall with a picture represents a victory over the forces of cleanliness and order that rule over society. To him, the powertools and piss are symbols of his defiance, his refusal to play by the rules.
Overall, "Powertools and Piss" is a testament to the primal instincts that often lurk beneath the veneer of civilization. It celebrates the freedom that comes with breaking the rules and embracing one's wild side, even if it means leaving a mess in one's wake.
