Their album "Ridin' the Tiger" in 1997, released on the White Jazz record label, marked a significant breakthrough both artistically and commercially, positioning them among the leaders of the Scandinavian hard rock movement. "Basement Apes," their fourth album, signed with Sony Music, and "Automatic Thrill" became their best-selling record.
Gluecifer performed at notable events such as the 2004 Quart Festival, opening for Monster Magnet. However, the band announced their breakup in July 2005, despite being considered one of Norway's successful rock bands. Their impact extended beyond music, with contributions to the Norwegian film "Izzat," featuring their song "Desolate City" on the 2008 compilation album "Kings of Rock - Best Of And Rarities."
Following the breakup, members pursued individual projects, including Captain Poon forming the band Bloodlights in 2006. Gluecifer's music was also featured in the soundtrack of the film "The Social Network" with the song "Black Book Lodge." In 2015, Gluecifer's studio albums were re-released on Captain Poon's label, Konkurs Productions. The following year, Captain Poon toured as the guitarist for Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg. In 2017, Gluecifer reunited for several festival appearances in 2018 and reunion shows in Oslo.

The white and the blue
Stir it up in a cup
Then tell me what you gonna do?
Take a little of the piss
The angst and the noise
Take a look at the people
Out on a rock, I am stuck on a shock and I
Don't want nobody to mend it
Out on a rock, I am stuck on a shock and I'm
I'm like a liar, like a thief and a bandit
Can you tell me what it's for?
What it's good for? How it works?
Spell it out real clear
Make it work for the jerks
Can you print it on paper?
Can you get it here?
You can put it in a circle
Or you can put in a square
Out on a rock, I am stuck on a shock and I
Don't want nobody to mend it
Out on a rock, I am stuck on a shock and I'm
I'm like a liar, like a thief and a bandit
Take a little of the tears
The fears and the lies
Take a swing at the crowd
Take a swing at the girls and the guys
Don't go with the flow
Just go with the go
I know how it is
You say it ain't so
Out on a rock, I am stuck on a shock and I
Don't want nobody to mend it
Out on a rock, I am stuck on a shock and I'm
I'm like a liar, like a thief and a bandit
Out on a rock, I am stuck on a shock and I
Wanna find somebody to share it
I wanna pack 'em up and stay, gonna crack 'em up and play
I wanna see it, wanna feel it, wanna hear it
The lyrics of Gluecifer's song "Take It" are somewhat cryptic, but what can be inferred is that the song is about rejecting conformity and embracing individuality. The first stanza appears to be referring to drugs and alcohol and how they can be mixed together to create a dangerous combination. The next stanza encourages the listener to take stock of their surroundings and notice the people around them, regardless of gender or identity.
In the chorus, the repeated line "Out on a rock, I am stuck on a shock" seems to indicate that the singer is feeling trapped by societal norms and expectations. They don't want anyone to "mend" their rock or free them from their trapped state. The lines "I'm like a liar, like a thief and a bandit" emphasize the idea of being unconventional and not fitting in with society's standards of morality.
The following stanza challenges the listener to define what "it" is and how it works. The truisms of life are ambiguous, and the chorus follows the same emotional bank; challenging listeners to print their answers, put it in a circle or a square as they wish.
The bridge refers to the fact that the singer wants to break free and experience things on their own terms. They reject labeling and want to be stuck in their experiential rock but share it with someone who understands their uniqueness. They want to play, feel, hear- and all in a way that breaks all the rules.
Overall, the lyrics may seem vague, but they encourage the listener to embrace their individuality, reject the conformity of society and explore life on their own terms.
