1. Gratitude is a rock band from San Francisco, California. They were formed in 2003 by former onelinedrawing and Far alum Jonah Matranga and guitarist Mark Weinberg (originally of the band Crumb). Other members included guitarist Jeremy Tappero and bassist Bob Lindsey. Drummer David Jarnstrom joined the band before the release of their self-titled debut album (session musicians fulfilled the drum role during the recording of the album). Atlantic Records released Gratitude on March 8, 2005. The tracks Drive Away and This Is The Part, were released as singles and received significant radio play both in the US and the UK. Gratitude's first tour for the album was a North American tour supporting Jimmy Eat World (whom the band has often been compared to), and they were also on the bill for the 2005 Warped Tour.
The band faced many difficulties after their album's release - the commercial response was somewhat poor, and Weinberg left the band in June for personal reasons, thus forcing Gratitude to continue touring as a four-piece. Many show cancellations throughout the second half of 2005 and rumours of the band being dropped by Atlantic put the future of the band at stake. Eventually Gratitude released a statement on November 25 claiming that they had in fact decided to split after playing one final show at the Ascot Room in Minneapolis two days earlier.
The members of Gratitude have now gone onto to various things, with frontman Jonah Matranga continuing with his solo work and the recently-reformed band Far. Members, Jeremy Tappero & David Jarnstrom have returned to their other band, Minneapolis rockers, Attention:.
2. Gratitude is also the name of a up and coming Hardcore/Progressive band from Kingston-Upon-Hull in the UK.

Gratitude Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Be there in the end
Send me your letters
Send me your letters
I'm willing to pretend
All of me
Just let it be
So look around
You're beautiful
So is she
So is he
Look around
I can't right now but let's try to talk tomorrow
Maybe tomorrow maybe someday
Say you want me to be there
Be there in the end
Send me your letters
Send me your letters
I'm willing to pretend
Growing up
Get it straight
Forward
So look around
What a mess
We gotta make
To get there
Look around
Around
I can't right now but let's try to talk tomorrow
Maybe tomorrow maybe someday
Say you want me to be there
Be there in the end
Send me your letters
Send me your letters
I'm willing to pretend
Say you want me to be there
Be there in the end
Send me your letters
Send me your letters
I'm willing to pretend
Say you want me
What a mess we gotta make
To be there
Will you be there
In the end
Say you want me to be there
Be there in the end
Send me your letters
Send me your letters
I'm willing to pretend
Maybe we'd all beware
Or end up here again
Send me your letters
Send me your letters
I'm willing to pretend
Say you want me to be there
Be there in the end
Say you want me
I'm willing to pretend
Sadie
In Gratitude's song Sadie, the lyrics seem to be about a person who is willing to be there for someone who they may have feelings for. They mention receiving letters and being willing to pretend, suggesting they are willing to go along with their feelings even if it means pretending. The lyrics also introduce other people, mentioning that they are beautiful too, and that there are options. This could suggest that the person singing is not as committed as the other person may want them to be.
As the song progresses, the lyrics mention growing up and getting things straight forward, suggesting that there is some confusion or difficulty in the relationship. There is a line about making a mess to get there, which could mean that certain difficulties need to be overcome to reach a resolution. The phrase “maybe tomorrow, maybe someday” is repeated, which could indicate uncertainty about the future of the relationship or the possibility of it happening.
Overall, the lyrics of Sadie seem to be about navigating the complexities of a romantic relationship and being willing to go along with it even if it means pretending. It could also be about the uncertainty and confusion that can arise when trying to figure out one's feelings for someone else.
